@jonbma I remember cobbling together research from like seekingalpha, marketscreener, and so many others
Awesome vision to use AI to basically combine all of this and give every day people powerful research tools
I've worked on hundreds of deals and there is so much blocking and tackling that is the same across deals (process NDA, fill out returns model, create a deal pack for IC, update customer cube, benchmark KPIs, come up with questions for mgmt pres, etc.).
All of these would be done basically sequentially by one person and take a bunch of time.
One of the most exciting parts of the deal room product is that now all of these processes can be kicked off with Rogo agents in parallel without a human in a loop. As the investor you can now review the information, refine and further automate your investment process over time, and more importantly spend more time thinking about the real drivers of the business.
Today, we're announcing Rogo's Deal Room.
Deals today are fragmented across data rooms, decks, models, trackers, emails, CRMs, and dozens of other systems. Managing them requires constant, manual coordination.
Rogo's Deal Room gives every transaction a home.
With the full context of a deal, agents can create materials, run diligence, coordinate stakeholders, and keep transactions moving without a human at every step. As deals close, Rogo can recognize the patterns behind exceptional outcomes, making every future transaction smarter and faster.
Great dealmakers shouldn't be caught in process. They should be driving the decisions that matter.
I’m rooting for this product, but a little surprised by the direction it’s going…my intuition is that the future phone will look more like a ipod nano vs a blackberry.
- smaller screen because you don’t need apps and UI when agents can complete your task for you
- no keyboard and voice first because you can speak faster than you can type anyways
We're so early to this...I have a family member dealing with stage 4 gallbladder cancer right now and have used AI to catch multiple things the "best doctors in the world" missed. Two real examples:
1. The doctors recommended a clinical trial that she didn't qualify for because of blood thinners, which AI caught immediately. This made her get off chemo for a month.
2. The doctors forgot to test for a tumor mutation (HER2) that would double her lifespan.
I have very mixed feelings about this, but ultimately I don't think it's the doctors' fault -- they just don't have the right tools or time to dig into every case.
Right now, when you have a life threatening disease and people tell you to "fight" there's nothing you can really do other than keeping your spirits high because your life is in the hands of other people. The future I want to live in is one where you can actually fight for your own life.
I nearly shut down my longevity company last year.
I was asking myself what one should build on the eve of superintelligence.
The answer is obvious now: cure all diseases.
But this wasn’t an obvious path for an individual like myself 12 months ago. Sid Sijbrandij hadn’t yet put his cancer into remission by going founder mode. The Australian engineer hadn’t shrunk his dog’s tumor by building a custom mRNA vaccine. And Kate and I hadn’t yet been diagnosed with disease.
Curing disease was something that big, billion dollar companies did over ten years. Not individuals.
That’s now changed.
Two weeks ago, I started focusing my company, Immortals, on building the infrastructure to allow individuals to discover and resolve their own health issues. Kate and I are the first customers as we both try to address our recent disease diagnoses.
If you’re a cracked engineer looking for a hard challenge, come build this with me.
Immortals will continue to be best-in-class with nutrition, GLP-1s, longevity medicines, hormones, peptides, biomarkers and concierge medicine.
We’re now adding induced pluripotent stem cells, organoids, deep cellular characterization, and personalized therapy development among other things.
I hope what we build in the coming year makes current health care look like it’s medicine from the 1500s.
Hit me up if you’re building biotech that matches in goal.
When our basic needs are met, solving all diseases is the only rational next thing to do. And to not wait around for someone else to do it on your behalf.
The most common disease in all of finance is “just one more bonus”
Cannot tell you how many dreams, ambitions and life goals have been crushed and set aside just from that phrase alone
All these smart people come into the field thinking that they will just do this for a few years and then walk away to do accomplish something more meaningful
Then life starts to kick in, the golden handcuffs become a little heavier each year, and that bonus number increases just enough to entice you to staying one more year
Then you look back one day and 15 years have gone by. You are still working the same
job, chasing the same clients, and stressed out over that same deliverable
Pretty amazing to watch with your own eyes
Why are you paying for dictation?
We're releasing free, unlimited AI dictation.
And it's not a slow, local model.
Willow Frontier Mini is cloud-based with zero-data-retention. More accurate and faster than Wispr Flow, OpenAI, Deepgram, and more.
See video comparison.
Same thing is true of investment bankers
before AI bankers would grind on excel / ppt
now AI makes it easier, so ppl build more excels / ppts
Instead they should spend more of their time on client relationships and sales
vibe coding is the new programmer's trap
before AI we had fancy feature syndrome
now AI makes features basically free, so everyone just keeps building and nobody markets
but the easier a product is to build, the more marketing becomes the actual job
AI has also created an explosion of internal memos, ppts, excels that are a complete waste of time and money
If you create one new document in a company of 1,000 people and it takes 15 minutes to review that document, it just cost the firm 250 hours reviewing it
People need to be retrained to have better judgement/taste on what is even worth building. Will be an important part of change management going forward
Agentic AI created an explosion of new apps.. but no one really cares.
"40,000 games launched in the App Store, & 0% of them sustained a Top 25 position."
"We download an average of 0 new apps a month."
Mark Pincus (@markpinc) says "You have to be thinking about this distribution & mindshare lockstep as you try to invent your product."
"The idea that you're just gonna make a better mousetrap & the world is just gonna come to you.. it might work. It's just extremely low odds."
"It's why I think we have to have a mentality, investing in consumer & building consumer products, that is centered around Day 365 retention.
It's thinking:
"What can I build that not only can I imagine my users using a year from now, but when they first try it, they can picture themselves using it a year from now?""
If they don’t normalize “Token Adjusted EBITDA” this will 100% happen
If they do, it’ll be an incredible tailwind for AI being applied across more companies
I give it a year until we see a new breed of AI native private equity firms that acquire companies just so they can move their workflows from Claude to open source Chinese models and flip them.
