The original post overstates the study. Texas A&M research shows Yellowstone's two internal herds have genetically mixed into one interbreeding population of 4,000-6,000 via movements inside the park and limited adjacent Montana zones—not free migration across Midwest private lands, towns, or barbed-wire fences.
Bison still hit roads, fences, and management actions (hazing, hunting) outside the park due to brucellosis and property concerns. True long-distance plains migration remains blocked by development.

Scientists have developed a promising regenerative option for people suffering from chronic neck and back pain caused by degenerative disc disease (DDD): an injectable hydrogel that could serve as a minimally invasive alternative to traditional surgery.
This advanced biocompatible gel is engineered to closely replicate the nucleus pulposus—the soft, gel-like core of intervertebral discs—delivering immediate structural support while restoring lost disc height and hydration. Administered via a simple needle injection, the hydrogel fills in degraded areas, recreates a supportive microenvironment, and helps stabilize the spine without the need for open procedures.
Unlike conventional treatments that primarily manage symptoms through pain relief or fusion surgery, this approach targets the underlying structural breakdown of the disc itself. Many hydrogel formulations also function as sophisticated delivery platforms, carrying stem cells, growth factors, or other bioactive agents directly to the damaged site. These components work to suppress inflammation, inhibit destructive enzymes, and promote the body's natural repair processes, potentially encouraging tissue regeneration over time.
Early clinical and preclinical studies, including trials with products like HYDRAFIL (from ReGelTec) for lumbar discs, have shown encouraging results: significant reductions in pain and disability, maintained disc height, and improved function in patients followed for up to a year or more. While much of the current focus remains on lower back (lumbar) applications, similar principles are being explored for cervical (neck) degeneration in regenerative medicine research, with hydrogels showing potential to alleviate nerve compression, restore cushioning, and enhance mobility.
This hydrogel-based therapy represents a meaningful step toward long-term recovery by addressing disc degeneration at its source, offering hope for reduced reliance on invasive spinal fusions and a path to preserving natural spinal movement. Ongoing trials and refinements will determine its full efficacy and applicability across different spinal regions.

During World War II, American psychologist B. F. Skinner developed an unusual plan known as Project Pigeon. He trained pigeons to recognise an enemy ship on a small screen and keep pecking at its image. Their movements would send corrections to the weapon’s controls, helping guide it toward the target.
The proposed nose cone contained three separate compartments, each holding a trained pigeon. In 1943, the project received a $25,000 government contract through General Mills and produced convincing demonstrations. However, military officials remained doubtful that pigeons could be trusted to guide a weapon, and the project was cancelled before it was ever deployed.
The Navy revived the idea in 1948 under the name Project Orcon, meaning “organic control.” It was finally abandoned in 1953 as electronic guidance systems became more reliable. One of Skinner’s experimental pigeon nose cones is now preserved by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
Although the weapon was never used, the experiments showed how accurately pigeons could be trained to follow moving images. Skinner later continued using pigeons in his research on learning and behaviour.

Science has confirmed that a weekend spent forest bathing can increase the activity and number of disease fighting cells in the immune system by as much as 80 percent with benefits that can last for an entire month.
The challenge is significant. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency the average American spends approximately 90 percent of their life indoors a habit that contributes to growing health problems.
In our screen filled and high stress world a centuries old Japanese practice supported by rigorous modern research offers a simple and effective natural solution. For more than two decades Dr. Qing Li an immunologist at Nippon Medical School has studied Shinrin yoku also known as forest bathing. His work has translated the calming experience of being in nature into measurable biological effects.
Dr. Li has demonstrated that trees release phytoncides antimicrobial volatile organic compounds that form part of the forests natural defense system. When people inhale these compounds during walks in the forest the chemicals enter the bloodstream. This process reduces stress hormones and helps shift the body from a chronic fight or flight state into a restorative mode.
The physiological benefits are both powerful and remarkably long lasting. Dr. Lis research shows that exposure to phytoncides significantly boosts the number and activity of natural killer cells. These white blood cells are essential for destroying virus infected cells and tumor cells. A three day two night forest bathing trip can increase natural killer cell activity by up to 80 percent. These protective effects do not disappear immediately upon returning to daily life but can persist for up to a month.
This evidence makes a strong scientific case for incorporating regular time in nature as an important element of preventive health care.

SpaceXAI just released Grok 4.5, and it ranks #4 on GDPval-AA v2 with an Elo of 1543 - behind only the latest Claude releases from Anthropic on real-world agentic knowledge work tasks
Grok 4.5 achieved this score at a cost of $0.49 per GDPval task to sit clearly on the Pareto frontier for performance versus cost. This cost is lower than GLM-5.2 and Kimi K2.6, and nearly 90% cheaper than the models ahead of it on our leaderboard.
We’re finalizing the remaining Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index evaluations and will share final results soon.
Thanks to @SpaceXAI and @elonmusk for their collaboration testing this model ahead of release, and congratulations on the launch!

Happy 147th Birthday to the legendary Albert Einstein — the genius who reshaped our understanding of the universe and remains one of the most iconic minds in history!Born on March 14, 1879, this theoretical physics titan single-handedly turned the world of science upside down with his groundbreaking theory of relativity. His special relativity showed that space and time aren't fixed absolutes but are woven together in a dynamic fabric, while general relativity revealed gravity as the curvature of that spacetime caused by mass and energy. And who could forget his most famous equation? E = mc² — a deceptively simple formula that unveiled the profound truth that mass and energy are interchangeable, unlocking the secrets of stars, nuclear power, and so much more.Though he never won a Nobel for relativity itself, Einstein was awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his revolutionary explanation of the photoelectric effect — a discovery that helped launch quantum mechanics and proved light behaves as both waves and particles. From a curious kid in Germany to a global icon who fled Nazi persecution and settled in Princeton, Einstein's life was as extraordinary as his ideas. His wild hair, playful wit, and fearless imagination continue to inspire dreamers, scientists, and anyone who dares to question https://t.co/ILxq14SplR's to the man who showed us the universe is far weirder and more wonderful than we ever imagined. Happy Birthday, Albert — your spark still lights up the cosmos!
I beleive electrons are SIMILAR, just not Identical. I think the reason they are perceived to be identical is because they are so small. We just cant see what makes electrons different from each other. As the great Carl Sagan so eloquently pointed out:
"The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence".
Just because things look Identical, it doesn't mean they are.
Einstein’s 1905 relativity paper originally had no citations.
The paper “On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies” (Annalen der Physik, 1905) was about 9,000 words (30 pages in journal format), but it had no references at all — very unusual for a physics paper.
🚨: Physicists prove the Universe isn’t a simulation after all─ mathematically proven
This discovery challenges the simulation hypothesis and reveals that the universe’s foundations exist beyond any algorithmic system.
New research from UBC Okanagan mathematically demonstrates that the universe cannot be simulated.
Using Gödel’s incompleteness theorem, scientists found that reality requires “non-algorithmic understanding,” something no computation can replicate.
4 Crypto-Native Platforms for Vibecoding Apps
Use AI tools to launch onchain apps with baked-in monetization👇
~~ Analysis by @davewardonline ~~
🛠 @devfun
Built on Solana, dev (dot) fun turns natural language prompts into apps tied to existing tokens. Brainstorm Mode helps refine ideas; Coding Mode adds Git-style commits to track changes. Preview apps for free, but launching requires linking to a @pumpdotfun token.
What Stood Out:
→ Upload 2D/3D assets
→ $2 covers compute and deployment; others can remix your app
→ World Cup (June 5–15) has global teams competing for $15K
🎮 @uberdotfun
Also on Solana, Uber lets you build apps, deploy on custom domains, and launch tokens. Choose from Claude 4, ChatGPT 4.1, or Gemini 2.5. The team left Believe over token launch transparency issues and now runs the ufun launchpad, soon merging it into Uber. 10K+ apps launched so far.
What Stood Out:
→ Launch a token to deploy: ufun or Believe
→ Add assets mid-build like dev (dot) fun
🧱 @tryoharaAI
Base-native Ohara turns prompts into apps and lets you monetize with App Coins or API integrations (e.g., 0x, Polymarket, @flaunchgg). You can also build smart contracts with Third Web or deploy @farcaster_xyz Mini Apps. Unlimited generations and better prompts just rolled out.
What Stood Out:
→ Direct Mini App deployment on Farcaster
→ Weekly contests for top apps
→ Deep API integrations and improved generation tools
🌊 @poofnew
Built on Solana via @alliancedao’s accelerator, Poof focuses on smooth UX. Still in beta, 1K+ apps have been created (devnet only). "Download Your Code" and "Raise Money for your App" features are on the way.
What Stood Out:
→ Task summaries highlight changes and focus
→ “Retry with instructions” for iterating on outputs
—
Ohara stands out as the most mature. Native integrations and Mini App porting make it the best option today — not just for building apps, but plugging into a social graph.
That said, these tools aren’t Cursor or Windsurf. But as crypto SDKs like OnchainKit and MiniKit ship, and APIs offer LLM-friendly docs, AI-assisted app creation will keep getting easier.
These platforms may lack power or flexibility, but they make up for it in access and built-in financialization. They're lowering the bar for anyone looking to explore social, financial software. And as tools improve, only one thing will separate builders from bystanders: the agency to build.
