NEW: There’s a new industrial alliance in Washington.
Tesla, Rivian, and Uber are joining forces with lithium companies, charging companies, and some of the country’s biggest utilities to form @zeta_2030.
Its goal: Make 100% of new vehicles EVs by 2030.

The debate is over ✋
It’s time for a tax system that will help fight our climate crisis, reduce energy bills, and create millions of new jobs for Americans. https://t.co/hQJOW8oKgb
The Dakota Access Pipeline, or DAPL, has been dangerously carrying oil across the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s land for 3 years, unwanted. Now, there's a proposal to expand this pipeline to double its size despite legal & scientific opposition. #NoDAPL https://t.co/pmlJiiGsGS
THIS IS BIG.
I’m announcing a new, transformative plan for #CleanCars.
The goal?
Rapidly phase out gas powered vehicles and replace them with clean vehicles.
It would establish the U.S. as a global leader in clean car manufacturing.
https://t.co/z98kFYVoYP
The scale of this plan is big:
It'd mean 63 million fewer carbon-emitting cars on the road
It'd create tens of thousands of good-paying jobs
And what’s different? It can bring together the environmental movement, the labor movement, & large automakers

From freshmen members of Congress like me to long-standing congressional leaders, and from moderates to progressives, we’re coming together in this letter to call for binding climate standards in #NAFTA and a recommitment to the Paris Climate Agreement.
Through my work on this issue, I have seen how disproportionately #LGBTQ people experience homelessness -- protections need to be reinstated in HUD's grant-making process.
These rollbacks are a cruel way to allow discrimination and we won't stand for it. 👇
Thx @RepKatieHill for your leadership on this letter. 76% of Americans agree #climatechange is a crisis or major problem. That’s why I joined 100+ of my colleagues in urging @RealDonaldTrump to stay in the Paris Agreement & ensure NAFTA 2.0 protects our environment. #ActOnClimate
Thanks to @SenJeffMerkley & co-signers for calling on @opicgov to reject two fracking projects in Argentina.
The US gov't should not spend $450M tax dollars on projects that will worsen the climate crisis, pollute water and jeopardize the rights of indigenous peoples.
@EPA And what happens in #Texas could play a role in the federal agency’s decision, due by 2020, on the standards and regulations for ethylene oxide emissions for some types of facilities.
In 2016, @EPA concluded #ethyleneoxide was a carcinogen more dangerous than previously thought, but #TCEQ disagrees with the model the federal agency used and is proposing raising the acceptable threshold in the state. Public comments due by Sept. 26: https://t.co/iGntSu4Uh3
@PaulEDawson Thank you for elevating this issue sir! My colleague @hanchennrdc and I just posted this blog along similar lines - https://t.co/XcfHFf4WG2

Congress should "prioritize clean energy solutions both at home and abroad to chart a more sustainable path forward and provide other countries with a truly clean energy financing alternative to Russia and China."

“The U.S. is doubling down on fossil fuels with a boom in oil and gas production that puts a safe climate at risk,”
“The scale of new production forecast from the U.S. is staggering, no other country comes even close.”

U.S. set to pump "staggering" new volumes of oil & gas next decade, making it a key obstacle to #climate solutions, says report from @Global_Witness
