@PeterGleick At Microsoft we built a platform called the Planetary Computer that has a number of free data sources updated daily. It comes with an easy browser to explore imagery if you are new to earth observation. For example, here's a recent image of San Francisco:

Thanks to @Microsoft AI For Good Lab for sponsoring our @iclr_conf workshop on #MachineLearning for #RemoteSensing.
AI For Good is an applied research & data visualization lab combining AI, ML & applied analytics w/ highly specialized datasets such as geospatial & acoustic data.
microsoft, and particularly azure, don’t get nearly enough credit for the stuff openai launches. they do an amazing amount of work to make it happen; we are deeply grateful for the partnership. 🙏 they have built by far the best AI infra out there.
Excited to reconnect with and learn from the amazing community at #SatSummit2022. Be sure to check out the awesome talks from my colleagues that run Microsoft's Planetary Computer @brunosan@lossyrob@TomAugspurger
If you are interested in #ai & #machinelearning for earth observation @robmarkcole is building an awesome community of likeminded data scientists/researchers. Check it out!
The satellite-image-deep-learning group is only 12 members shy of 500 members, join here for all my discoveries and updates, and help grow the community! https://t.co/YTMmWRamq9
We've just released Sarsen v0.9.2!
Highlights: massive performance improvements, the ability to terrain correct a full Sentinel-1 SAR product in one go and a detailed correctness analysis.
The aim for the next release is a fully operational tool! Follow me and @bopensolutions
@Cchurchili If you haven't had a chance check out the Sentinel-1 imagery (RTC & GRD) in the Planetary Computer. It's interesting to layer Sentinel-1 RTC with Sentinel-2 imagery to see how they compare:

When implementing a true #netzero strategy details matter, even down to pots and pans.
Proud that @Microsoft is innovating with @JadeRange to bring #induction cooking to more kitchens.

Would you like free access to 777 million @bing maps building footprints in #geoparquet format?
You can now access this dataset as well as #flood inundation maps from @deltares in Microsoft's Planetary Computer - check it out!

I wanted to highlight a few things from the recent #PlanetaryComputer release https://t.co/kyC6QvlxPQ. There are a ton of new datasets to use, all available through our @STACspec API.
I'll go through more later, but the highlight for me is the new, global Sentinel-1 products
