Delhi: On a simultaneous kidney–pancreas transplant being performed after 18 years, Prof. Dept. of Surgery, AIIMS, Dr. Asuri Krishna says, "This surgery is called a simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplant and is performed in patients with type 1 diabetes and kidney failure. Patients with diabetes need insulin produced by the pancreas, while those with kidney failure require a kidney transplant due to dialysis dependency. The benefit of transplanting both organs together is that the patient’s diabetes is controlled and the need for dialysis is eliminated. The pancreas not only produces insulin but also helps prevent complications caused by diabetes and protects the newly transplanted kidney. All these benefits are achieved without any additional medicines, as the same standard drugs used in kidney transplants are also used for pancreas-kidney transplants....."

You've probably heard that Bicarbonate has to turn into CO2 to raise the pH. “Don’t give bicarb if you can’t increase ventilation.”
But how much CO2 is there in an amp of sodium bicarbonate?

Hi #MedTwitter !
You’re an intern and your resident has told you to send PT/INR for a patient with liver failure.
You find out that you have to send the sample in this funky blue capped container ⤵️
Why?
