@DueDoctor@BowTiedBiotech That’s because those numbers are YOY growth, not total sales. For 2023, Keytruda was $25Bn, Ozempic was $13.9Bn and Mounjaro was $5Bn.
@AppleHelix This might’ve been the case for VCs with multi-stage strategies, but there are (and were) many (including ourselves) that did not change our early stage investment cadence. Many announced (and not yet announced) preclinical financings in the past 6 months were highly competitive.
@eperlste@JasonSynaptic Ethan has a point. There are loads of postdocs available in biopharma w/cultures that encourage publishing if that’s important to u. Also u get to play with toys rarely accessible in academic environments due to cost. Here’s a link to Merck’s program: https://t.co/oFBf9OKH2x
@LifeSciVC Some will be limited with what they can do by their LPAs, and only larger funds are likely to be able to tap into mgmt fees to get around that. Some are even directly entangled with SVB themselves. I would be surprised if all that want to step up, can.
@VishalGulati_ Call me when we’ve built one with enough qubits to do an atomic level molecular dynamics simulation of the entire energy landscape of a protein in solution ;)
I sued a spammer!
Did you know you have a right to sue folks that send you unsolicited text messages or calls?
I received a check for $1,200 today as settlement of a TCPA suit against a party that sent me an unsolicited text message.
Having come out of yeast genetics labs during my PhD/postdoc days, it’s been hard not to be impressed by the promise of Lifemine’s platform. Congrats to @glostaman and team on the transformational partnership and financing: https://t.co/izSFLx1PvT
@sciencescanner Why not both? I agree BETTER trumps FASTER on average and in a resource-constrained envmt this should be the prefrd path, but BETTER can be constrained by available resources too. Enabling BETTER with more resources can lead to FASTER without compromise.
