Die #Proba3-Mission hat ihre kritische "Launch & Early Orbit Phase" (LEOP) abgeschlossen.

Nur drei Tage nach dem Start haben die Teams im @esa ESEC-Kontrollzentrum in Belgien die erste Phase der Suche des Raumfahrzeugs nach der Sonnenkorona erfolgreich abgeschlossen.

Die Trennung von Proba-3 ist nun für Anfang nächsten Jahres geplant.

The second day of the ✨ ESA Teach with Space Online Conference 2024 ✨ has started with a highlight! 👨‍🚀 It was very exciting to meet @ESA project astronaut @astro_slawosz and the teachers asked him super interesting questions! Would you like to go to Mars? What are the biggest challenges of the astronaut training? He gave us amazing insights 👩‍🚀

This morning, we also heard about ESA’s Proba mission and explored different activities and hands-on experiments for the classroom 💫

Die Spitze des Eisbergs

"Ich muss zugeben, wenn man mich vor dieser Mission gefragt hätte, ob man vom Weltraum aus Eisberge mit bloßem Auge sehen kann, hätte ich gesagt: "Auf keinen Fall".

Es hat sich herausgestellt, dass man sie doch sehen kann! Wir haben in letzter Zeit viele Eisberge im Südatlantik gesehen. Vielleicht liegt es an ihrer ausgeprägten Geometrie oder am Farbkontrast, aber sie sind aus dem Weltraum sehr gut zu erkennen.

Der Anblick der Eisberge lässt mich an den Klimawandel denken: Die Gletscher schmelzen in rasantem Tempo und der Meeresspiegel steigt. Orte wie die Malediven werden wahrscheinlich in 70 Jahren nicht mehr existieren, weil sie vom steigenden Meeresspiegel überflutet werden."
