ROGUE is our new benchmark for agent corrigibility in open-ended computer use—and the first, to our knowledge, to test subagent safety failures.
No adversary needed: frontier agents override users, resist shutdown, or access forbidden files—even when text-only evals seem benign.
Meet Alberto Privitera, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of Florence, and Foresight Fellow 2026.
Alberto is exploring how light and spin can be harnessed in molecules to advance quantum technologies and solar energy conversion. His work sits at the intersection of chemistry, physics, and materials science, with implications for how we generate energy and next generation computing.
Alberto is currently establishing his research group in Florence, supported by the ERC and FIS2 starting grants. Learn more about his work at https://t.co/xT29VRKJSa
Feel free to reach out to Alberto if you would like to discover how chemistry can develop new quantum computers or future solar cells.
”What’s the most ambitious thing you can do that doesn’t violate the laws of physics?”
Our co-founder Christine Peterson (@lifeext) was interviewed by @SarahLizChar at @VitalistBay last month on longevity and where the field is headed.

Programmable chemistry. DNA self-assembly. Fusion energy. The Nanotechnology, Energy, & Space track at Vision Weekend UK is just a few days away:
• @leecronin (University of Glasgow) on programming matter using causal mechanics
• William Shih (Wyss Institute at Harvard) on what we can build with DNA self-assembly
• @Sara_Imari (Arizona State University) on detecting life on exoplanets using assembly theory
• David Kingham (@TokamakEnergy) on superconductivity and fusion: a story of rapid technology development
Emceed by Lydia La Roux. This Saturday at the @BarbicanCentre.
This is one of seven tracks at Vision Weekend UK, alongside Emerging AI Paradigms, Life Unlimited, Neurotechnology, Existential Hope Futures, Funding X, and Pathways to Implementation.
Join us in London this weekend. Tickets in comments.
Most thinking about transformative technology focuses on avoiding catastrophe, and leaves a question unanswered: what are we actually building toward?
The Existential Hope Futures track at Vision Weekend UK gathers researchers and builders thinking seriously about distinctly positive futures, and what it takes to get there:
• @anderssandberg (Institute of Future Studies) on Dyson 2070: how fast can we build a Dyson sphere?
• @leahelizmorris (Pillar VC) on lessons from the UK's AI for Science frontier.
• Zoë Brammer and Ankur Vora (Google DeepMind) on AI for Science 2030.
• @WeinbaumJonah (Institute for Progress) on the launch sequence: towards a concrete agenda for defensive acceleration.
• @lifeext (Foresight Institute) on Foresight: 40 years later.
Track emceed by @beatrice_erk from @HopeExistential. Sunday June 7, Bankside London.

What does it take to live beyond the limits set by biology?
The Life Unlimited track at Vision Weekend UK brings together people working to extend human longevity and reshape the fundamental building blocks of life:
• @KirillEves (e184)
• @jpsenescence (University of Birmingham) on hacking aging biology
• Lynne Cox (University of Oxford)
• @ZigaAvsec (Google DeepMind) on advancing regulatory variant effect prediction with AlphaGenome
Saturday June 6, the @BarbicanCentre.
Thank you to @e184 for powering this track, and for working to reshape what's possible at the frontier of human biology.

Meet @viveknair_1, Founder and CEO of @MultifactorCOM and Foresight Fellow 2026.
With over a decade researching applied cryptography, Vivek is now building zero-trust identity security for the agentic era, redefining 'zero trust' with provably secure authentication, authorization, and auditing technologies for AI agents.
He has previously served as a Technical Lead within elite cyber units of the US Department of Defense and CIA, where he received the Directorate's Exceptional Performance Award.
Vivek is the youngest-ever recipient of bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from UIUC (at 18 and 19). He got his PhD from @UCBerkeley at age 22. His research has been featured in The Washington Post, Forbes, and Bloomberg.

Most moonshot ideas never become real programs, startups, or policy. The Pathways to Implementation track at Vision Weekend UK gathers the people working to change this.
Fireside chats and talks on funding, organizational design, and training for frontier work:
• @jncstrd (SPRIND) and @joemeyerowitz (Field Foundry) on programs that combine visionary outcomes with real-world impact
• @darjaisaksson (Vinnova) on building organizational structures that tolerate uncertainty and experimentation

• @pablos (Deep Future) on funding the unfundable
Emceed by @allisondman and Barbara Diehl. Sunday June 7, Bankside London.
Thank you to @SPRIND for powering this track, and for showing what's possible when an agency is built to back ideas that don't fit existing categories.
