I watched @ntvuganda News where Mr. @job_matua explained that Mr @KagutaMuseveni plans to meet all candidates including those who lost the elections to discuss reconciliation and building a better Uganda.

Now my question is, how do you talk about reconciliation while, every day, supporters of the opposition are being abducted, arrested, and harassed?

Reconciliation cannot exist in an environment of fear and dialogue cannot thrive where citizens are hunted for their political beliefs.

If, as claimed, the President genuinely won with 71%, then why the continued crackdown on NUP supporters? Why the intimidation? Why the arrests? Why the military deployments?

A confident government does not fear peaceful opposition.

Reconciliation is not declared in meetings but it is demonstrated through actions.

If this call is sincere, then it must begin with concrete steps:

1. Release all political prisoners, including Dr. Kizza Besigye, unconditionally.

2. End abductions and arbitrary arrests immediately.

3. Remove the military deployment at Bobi Wine’s home without delay.

4. Guarantee freedom of movement, assembly, and expression for all citizens.

5. Guarantee full freedom of movement and security for Bobi Wine, who remains in hiding following post-election threats.

Without these actions, the talk of reconciliation remains empty rhetoric, meant for headlines, not for healing.

As Ugandans we are tired of speeches without substance.
We want justice before dialogue.
We want freedom before reconciliation.

Only then can the country truly move forward.

Uganda Leader Museveni is Right Bobi Wine ‘Stole’ 2.7 Million Votes, But Wrong About The Victim
Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni just won a 9th term (two of the unelected) on January 15, with 71.6% of the vote. His main rival Robert Kyagulanyi (more popularly Bobi Wine) who had his house attacked by soldiers after the election, and is on the run, has rejected the result as “fake”. Every election result in which Museveni has been declared winner in his 40 years in power, has been disputed.
Before this election, and now after, President Museveni has been arguing that Bobi Wine and his party "stole" 2.7 million votes in the 2021 election, illegally introducing them in the system. He says for the 2026 election, those votes were cleaned out, which is meant to partly explain the increase of his vote to 71.6%. He has not presented any evidence for his claim, but let us accept for argument’s sake that he is correct.
If Museveni is right, then it is a strategic blunder because it creates a mathematical paradox that undermines the legitimacy of his own victories, both in the past and the present. Secondly, it portrays
Bobi Wine as a logistical genius with the operational reach required to run a state – which Museveni otherwise claims he doesn’t have.
Starting with 2021, if we assume Museveni’s claim is true, the official 2021 numbers stop making sense:
Museveni won with 5.85 million votes (58%) against Bobi Wine’s 3.48 million (35%).
If 2.7 million of Bobi Wine's votes in 2021 were "illegal" and we remove them from consideration, his real total would drop to just 780,000 votes. Nationally, this would mean Wine received only 9% of the vote—an absurdity given his party swept the parliamentary seats in the country's most populous central region of Buganda and parts of Busoga in the lower East.
Removing those 2.7 million votes drops the total ballots cast from 10.7 million to 8 million. The turnout percentage would fall from 59% to 44%. If we further reduce this by a conservative 15% (to account for wider irregularities), turnout in 2021 hits a historic low of 37.7%.
For Museveni to still hold 5.85 million votes in this scenario, he would have received 86% of every "real" vote cast. In an election where the heart of the country (Buganda and Kampala) was visibly hostile to him, an 86% mandate is a statistical fairy tale.
It doesn't end there. If 2.7 million votes were introduced, they would have to be concentrated in the opposition strongholds to make sense. But in 2021, the Electoral Commission reported 100% turnout in 409 polling stations—mostly in Museveni’s strongholds (like Western Uganda and Karamoja). Mathematically, it is much easier to stuff a ballot box in a remote area where you have 100% control than to introduce 2.7 million fake people in high-scrutiny urban areas like Kampala or Wakiso where Bobi Wine is actually popular.
Then its causes more problems for the latest January 15, 2026, vote. By claiming the election commissioned "cleansed" 2.7 million illegal entries for the 2026 election, Museveni creates a massive logic gap in the current voter roll:
If 2.7 million "fake" voters were deleted, the register should have dropped to 15.4 million before any new growth. To reach 21.6 million today, Uganda would have needed to register roughly 6.2 million new genuine voters in five years.
This represents a 40.2% increase in the "real" base. Since Uganda’s voting-age population only grows by roughly 3% annually, adding 6.2 million voters is demographically impossible. It would prove that the 2026 register was simply re-inflated with a different set of "ghosts" to facilitate Museveni’s jump to 71.6%.
But beyond the data, the argument creates a big political problem. If Bobi Wine—an opposition leader with no control over partisan security forces and the Electoral Commission or the internet—could "insert" 2.7 million votes, it implies Museveni lost control of the state machinery. He is essentially crowning Wine as more competent than the NRM’s security apparatus.
Museveni is further agreeing with critics that the system is broken; he is simply trying to change the "owner" of the ghosts.
As a good Ugandan might say, “Mzee should let this one sleep”.

Meanwhile, my two Party deputy presidents for Western and Northern Uganda are still missing, having been abducted by the military on the 14th and 15th, respectively. Apparently Museveni’s son has ordered the military not to produce them before court or return them to their families until he says so. Despite having been abducted in the presence of witnesses and even recorded on camera, the regime has filed court documents denying knowledge of their whereabouts. This is very urgent because these leaders could suffer the same fate as our 18 supporters who were forcefully disappeared in the last election and are missing to date. This is the STATE OF UGANDA in 2026. The world must not look on as these shocking atrocities persist.

Here is a picture of my wife shared by Museveni’s son and head of our nation's military, Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

When soldiers on his orders raided our home, they made her to sit down, put her on gunpoint to reveal her phone passwords and my whereabouts, assaulted her, and eventually tore her nightdress shirt while filming. It was only after her blood pressure rose, and she became unconscious that these thugs left her, before she was rushed to hospital.

Like she narrated, these criminals were filming everything and definitely sending them to their deranged boss!

Barbie is strong and appreciates all of you who have reached out with messages of strength and solidarity, as she tries to recover from the trauma.

Indeed, when she swore for better for worse, she never imagined these thugs placing their filthy hands on her. But it happened, and she took it with grace. She courageously confronted the criminals and refused to surrender despite the violence.

Meanwhile, our home remains occupied by the military as they try to hunt me down.
No one is allowed to access my home, not even family members trying to deliver basic needs like food.

In all this, we remain encouraged by our undying faith that UGANDA WILL BE FREE. Museveni and his son will one day pay for all the crimes committed against the people of Uganda.

Let me break down what is happening and what is likely to happen from 2026 and beyond.

From the start, the dynasty project was moving smoothly and according to plan.
Risky and outspoken army generals were neutralized.
Credible and independent politicians were largely cleared out.
Influential religious voices were silenced or tamed.

All that remained was to roll out the red carpet for the palace prince.

Then came 2017—and a musician entered politics.

The father quickly sensed danger. As Bobi Wine himself later said, Arua was meant to be the end of him. The plan was simple: deal with the problem and manage the consequences.

2021 and its aftermath were dismissed as a wave of excitement—Ugandans enjoying a celebrity they once paid to watch, now appearing “for free.” The regime convinced itself it was a temporary craze, not a political force.

2021–2026, the strategy shifted: infiltrate, plant moles, weaken, and break the party from within. But God had other plans.

Now we enter the campaign period.

The expectation was limited popularity—Buganda at best, maybe pockets of Eastern Uganda like Jinja. What unfolded instead shocked them.

They encountered a “King David” phenomenon:
a leader whose appeal crossed regions, tribes, and class;
border to border popularity;
and, crucially, a politician who had matured, not just survived.

What happened during—and after—January 15th is the regime scrambling to manage unforeseen realities. The commitment to dynastic succession remains, but the truth is now obvious: the dynasty is in decline.

The next move is predictable. They will attempt to weaken or completely finish off National Unity Platform, using every tool available to them.

Personally, I believe God is in control.

Night may fall, but dawn always comes—at the appointed time.

Crime (extra-judicial killings, threats of violence, violence, torture, inhumane treatment, electoral offences like voter bribery), militarizing campaigns and voting process, and assault on institutions like @UgandaEC, @MODVA_UPDF, @PoliceUg…; as well as the human rights violations and political persecution @KagutaMuseveni inflicts on opposition, critics,journalists, clerics, civil society and ordinary folks IS NEITHER organisation NOR infrastructure.

It is plain crimanality, illegality and wrong.

Language that masks this persecution and human rights violations is not only harmful propaganda. It is excusing and cheering crime and the destruction of a nation. This is how you kill a country with a pen, hand or mouth; and join those killing it with guns.
