Science has swung from "take no one's word for it" on one side to "trust the science" on the other.
I discuss how science has changed over time, and how it will continue to change in the future, in this article:

Quantum biology keeps growing! 🇳🇬
Last week, we supported a community member-led event in Nigeria, bringing together hundreds of participants across both in-person and online attendance. Students, researchers, scientists, and people curious about crypto-enabled collaboration gathered for a shared introduction to quantum biology and decentralized science.
The event created space for education, discussion, and community building within Nigeria’s academic and innovation ecosystem, highlighting the role of open collaboration in advancing emerging scientific fields.
Here’s to more quantum biology events and bringing this science to communities around the world. 🌍
Four years ago, we launched Bismarck Brief.
Since then, our analysts have written over 1 million words on new technologies, global industry, and the world's key live players.
You know the drill. Here are the 7 most important things we learned about how the world works in 2025:
GDP is not an objective metric of production, but a number cooked up by government bureaucrats behind closed doors to match their subjective vibes of how the economy is doing.
It is hiding serious U.S. industrial decline.

👻 Halloween is just a month away - have you started thinking of your costume?
Here's some inspiration to get you started...
Featuring our models: @geoffanders@keerkat_@ClariceDAiello@LodesaniA
What does a normal person do on their birthday?
Well, if you’re @geoffanders, you spend it presenting a proposal in theoretical biophysics and engaging in deep conversation with the scientists at the Quantum Biology Institute.
Happy birthday to one of our co-founders! The DAO community thanks you for your contributions and leadership! 🎉
The optical table for our quantum microscope has been assembled! 🛠️🦾
Huge thanks to Ale's friends and family for the help— we couldn’t have pieced this together without the extra muscle.
Next: vibration dampening and performance testing.
Philosophy is the foundation of the sciences because philosophy is necessary for individuals to orient, which is necessary for distinct coherent perspectives, which is necessary to parse experience to a point where good hypotheses can be discovered.
…among other things.
It's time to spotlight our working groups! 🚀
These are the teams helping to move the Quantum Biology DAO forward—participating in conversations, building structure, and figuring it out as we go.
Take a look at some of the faces (and avatars) behind the effort.
Here’s how we’re currently structured:
🔬 Science — Exploring, discussing, and interpreting quantum biology research to deepen community understanding.
📢 Communications — Sharing the work of the DAO and growing awareness of quantum biology.
🎓 (Includes the Education subgroup, focused on helping more people learn and engage with quantum biology.)
⚙️ Operations— tracks contributions and helps scheduling.
This is just the start — we plan to expand into even more specialized groups as the community grows.

@steveinpursuit Kant actually notes that the only seeming intrinsic properties we’re familiar with are those from our own mental content.
Typically, we only have a functional characterization of intrinsic properties. So, “mass” is just “whatever it is in a thing that makes it behaves thus…”
@steveinpursuit Yes, unfortunately :D
One can think about noumena as being "things" and Kant as claiming that we understand their relational properties but not their intrinsic properties.
The idea is that in being aware of things, our relation to them affects what we end up being aware of.
🧬 In Ep. 2 of Proof of DeSci, @geoffanders from @QuantumBioDAO explains their mission to build a quantum microscope, a tool that could reveal quantum events inside living cells.
The Oscar Selfie at @DesciLondon 2025.
A rockstar panel discussing the challenges and breakthroughs of building DAO-native research ecosystems!
Big thanks to our amazing moderator, @loganebc, and my fellow builders for sharing so much knowledge.
🎙 Episode 2 of Proof of DeSci is live!
In this episode, we ask the big question: Is DeSci dead, or just getting started?
We’re joined by @geoffanders from @QuantumBioDAO and @erik_vanwinkle from @bioprotocol, and @Mxltiplex from ValleyDAO for a deep dive into the cutting edge of decentralized science.
From building quantum microscopes to launching autonomous AI research agents, our guests explore what it means to do science in web3, and what’s next for the DeSci movement.
