Clair

Life is simple when pay is simple. Connecting financial services to the workplace, starting with pay.

[Clair @getclair]

Come find Clair at @HRTechConf in Las Vegas, October 20-22!

We're excited to chat with anyone interested in earned wage access products or thinking about what financial services connected to the workplace should look like.

[Nico Simko @nicosimko]

@bamboohr finally gifted us a pair of their famous stuffed panda at @HRTechConf - celebrating 1 year since we started working together!

[Clair @getclair]

The Clair network is taking shape! Launching today, Clair Connect brings together our workforce platform and payroll partners to offer payroll-connected On-Demand Pay in the apps people already use, helping more Americans access credit. Watch @nicosimko explain:

[Nico Simko @nicosimko]

Today I'm super excited to announce the launch of Clair Connect, our unified network of payroll-partners enabling third party apps to offer credit repaid via payroll. With this launch consumers can get payroll-connected credit (it's less risky for lenders, so it's cheaper for consumers!) to the apps where people manage work, manage their money, or even the agents that manage their work or financial lives. We'll announce the members of our network as they join Clair Connect. We're just getting started :)

[Clair @getclair]

Early on, we made a deliberate choice to partner with a national bank and get licensed state by state, so advances run through a compliant, bank-backed program.

Proud to extend our partnership with Pathward, N.A. https://t.co/NHYVEsxEUL

[Nico Simko @nicosimko]

Clair Atlas, our AI underwriting engine, allows lenders to analyze consumers’ job stability using payroll and time-and-attendance data rather than credit history.

With Atlas, we can safely increase eligibility for short term credit from 40% to 95%+ for people without credit scores (which was my case in the first few years in the US) or those subprime

Credit should be connected to the workplace. AI is a perfect use case for this.

[Clair @getclair]

Honored to be included, @heysamir_ ! 😃

Five years ago, I wrote a mega-thread on how to build a neobank from scratch. It turns out that a neobank isn't a bank at all - it's a massive collection of partnerships and infrastructure that supports banking services.

Five years later, I'm remastering the post with a full breakdown in 2026. The 13 original layers have grown to 26, so we've got an entire A-Z guide to building the neobank from scratch.

[This Week in Fintech @twifintech]

AI is everywhere in fintech product strategy right now.

Clair founder @nicosimko's view: that is not enough.

Once a company has the growth and profitability to control its own roadmap, customer problems should guide what gets built next, not whatever technology happens to be dominating the conversation.

[Clair @getclair]

Clair crossed $100M in revenue run rate this month — in under two years — and we’re now cashflow positive. $2B in wage advance volume run rate, 500K+ monthly active users, 300K+ businesses on the platform.

[Nik @NikMilanovic]

I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with @GetClair CEO @nicosimko.

For those unfamiliar, Clair builds embedded earned wage access infrastructure for payroll and workforce platforms.

Why does this matter?

Because Nico is building a MONSTER fintech business:

Clair crossed a $100M revenue run-rate in under two years and turned cashflow positive earlier this year.

The business by the numbers:

➡️ $2 billion in wage advance volume run rate
➡️ 500,000 monthly active users
➡️ Over 300,000 active businesses on the platform

And this is with a product (EWA) that many said wouldn't be sufficient to build a standalone fintech company.

Unlike many founders in the space, Clair hit this scale by taking a regulatory-first approach to building. As Nico says, they effectively “took a bazooka to kill a fly” on compliance, and how that investment became an advantage when selling into enterprise partners.

Clair has grown 10× in under two years, reaching a $100M run rate and serving 500K+ workers monthly.

@getclair partners with Gusto/TriNet/QuickBooks to bring wage liquidity directly to workers.

CEO @nicosimko explains why that model matters, and how it evolved with @micahjay1.

[Alex Konrad @alexrkonrad]

Exclusive: Clair, which offers early wage access to U.S. workers, has reached a $100M run rate in less than 2 years.

I spoke to CEO @nicosimko about why he believes his fintech, which partners with Gusto and TriNet, is the "fairest" option in market.
