Today, children, women & men in #Gaza and #Israel woke up again to war.
Parties must protect civilians & provide access to humanitarian actors to deliver across #Gaza according to needs as per #InternationalHumanitarianLaw.
Humanitarian aid must continue unconditionally. Hostages must be released unconditionally.
The UN will continue to stay & deliver food, water, medical and other critical supplies to save lives.
21-year-old Marwa dreams of becoming a surgeon but fears it will no longer be possible since her university was bombed and her life, as she knew it, stopped.
UNICEF continues to call for a humanitarian ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access across Gaza.
"We continue to deliver supplies & the supplies run out fast"
@JulietteTouma tells @dwnews of the extreme concern caused after no new aid was allowed into📍#Gaza yesterday after the humanitarian pauses ended.
The flow of aid- including fuel -needs to resume as soon as possible.
Fuel is vital to saving lives – with the end of the ‘pause’ the Israeli authorities have made the decision to cut fuel for humanitarian aid by 50% – this will cost more lives
🔊 One of our staff recounts the moment Israeli forces opened fire on a clearly-marked MSF convoy in #Gaza, killing two people.
We have asked the Israeli authorities for a formal explanation and we call for an independent investigation into this attack.
"I'm very sorry to let you know that this is only the number we were able to confirm"
With over 100 colleagues killed in📍#Gaza@JulietteTouma tells @BeckyCNN that "@UNRWA will never be the same" as we fear there are many colleagues unaccounted for, still stuck under the rubble.
Doctors inside Al Shifa hospital in #Gaza have been sending desperate texts to fellow doctors in UK saying they fear they’ll be ‘dead in the morning’ along with patients and families inside. They’re pleading for help from British Parliamentarians
One day, a child will ask me if we knew "back then" what was happening and what we did to avoid it or why governments supported it when people were against.
We're failing as a human society.
#gaza
#UNGA voted #ceasefire. Soon after, Israel cut off internet &,quite literally, turned off the light in Gaza while intensifying bombings. 7,500 Pal killed, 1,000s+ under the rubble.
The enormity of these crimes is matched only by the moral failings of those who are enabling them.
We have teams on standby ready to send medical supplies and to enter Gaza, as soon as the situation allows it. But if the bombing continues with the current intensity, any effort to increase medical aid will inevitably fall short.

Two weeks ago, we marched in London for a ceasefire.
Last week, we marched for a ceasefire.
Today, we marched for a ceasefire.
This massacre has to end — we need a ceasefire, now.
.@volker_turk: The cycle of vengeance and bloodshed needs to end. It is of utmost importance that all those with influence negotiate a way out of this protracted, disastrous situation. Peace, security and justice will not be found down this current path. https://t.co/3o9TLIWb1n
#Gaza has lost contact with the outside world amid reports of intensified bombardment. Phone lines/internet/mobile networks cut. Hospitals & humanitarian operations can't continue without communications, energy, food, water, meds. Safety of civilians, incl health workers/journos/UN staff at grave risk. Wars have rules. Civilians must be protected.
Reports of intense bombardment in Gaza are extremely distressing.
Evacuation of patients is not possible under such circumstances, nor to find safe shelter.
The blackout is also making it impossible for ambulances to reach the injured.
We are still out of touch with our staff and health facilities. I’m worried about their safety.
@WHO appeals to all those who have the power to push for a ceasefire to act NOW.
We are deeply concerned about the situation in Gaza. We have lost contact with some of our Palestinian colleagues on the ground. We are particularly worried for the patients, medical staff and thousands of families taking shelter at Al Shifa hospital and other health facilities.
