We need a huge change, in mind set. We cannot carry on with business as usual.
This is before you even take into account #HS2CapacityRelease, allowing more #LocalTrains and #RailFreight to use existing mainlines as high speed non-stop trains are moved onto dedicated routes, the faster journey times being a sensible competitor to #DomesticFlights.
This is why we need the #Environmentalists to stand up and join the cause of #HS2. Without the #HS2CapacityRelease, we're locked in to low capacity and high rail fares. #RailFareReform also much needed (#ClimateTicket?), as is #Electrification.
