I do think #HaveCarWillDrive to be the main factor. But there are things TfL can do, such as more widespread installation of bike racks on red route parades, and wider distro of Santander Cycles.

@ClaytonCoffelt Apparently the bug excretions are the best part of shellac aka confectioners glaze. It has various types of solvents in it which are poisonous. Supposedly FDA tests the food shellac to make sure it's not too poisonous. Mmmm

Perhaps part of the cost of doing business in an area like this, but at the same time it shows why shops need local councillors' support.

@FairLondon @michaellondonsf To me, the epitomy of the current London vibe is a refusal by a white council planner to grade an area as a #LocalCentre in spatial strategy, followed by an application by a white property owner to convert a shop there to residential, then the eviction of its African shopkeeper.

We can restore community interaction, economic activity & shared community space by restoring the area to the spatial strategy map, as a #localcentre. It would cost nothing & it does not prevent new housing (while protecting commercial). Thoughts? @kieronjwilliams @tom4camberwell
@MayorofLondon @metpoliceuk Policing is one side to safer communities. Buildings/transport design & spatial strategy is the other side.
Why not use #localcentre designations to reverse the mania of centralisation & retraction of overall High Street space, return walk-in jobs, rebuild community interaction?
