#Synopsis
9 ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு ஜப்பானில், பாழடைந்த 'ரஷோமொன்' கோட்டை வாசலில், கொட்டும் மழையில் ஒதுங்கும் ஒரு விறகுவெட்டியும், ஒரு துறவியும் தாங்கள் கண்ட ஒரு விசித்திரமான வழக்கைப் பற்றி, அங்கு வரும் ஒரு வழிப்போக்கனிடம் அந்த மர்மத்தைச் சொல்கிறார்கள்.
🔹காட்டில் போர்வீரன் ஒருவன் பிணமாகக் கிடக்கிறான்.
🔹அவன் மனைவியைக் காணவில்லை.
🔹கொள்ளையன் தாஜோமாரு கைது செய்யப்படுகிறான்.
நீதிமன்றத்தில் இச்சம்பவத்தில் தொடர்புடைய ஒவ்வொருவரும் சொல்லும் கதை, முந்தைய கதையை அடித்து நொறுக்குகிறது.
யார் சொல்வது உண்மை?
🔹 கொள்ளையன் கூறும்போது, போர் வீரனின் மனைவியை அடைய விரும்பினேன். உங்களில் யார் வீரன் என்று சண்டையிட்டுத் தீர்மானியுங்கள் என்றாள் அவள். எனவே அந்த வீரனுடன் போரிட்டு அவனை வென்று அவனுடைய மனைவியை அடைந்ததாக கொள்ளையன் விவரிக்கிறான். கொள்ளையன் தன்னை ஒரு மாவீரனாக காட்டிக்கொள்கிறான்.
🔹அடுத்து வந்த மனைவி, "கொள்ளையன் என்னைச் சிதைத்துவிட்டு ஓடிவிட்டான். என் கணவனோ என்னை ஆறுதல்படுத்துவதற்குப் பதில், ஒரு தீண்டத்தகாதவளைப் பார்ப்பது போல அருவருப்பாகப் பார்த்தார். அந்தப் பார்வையைத் தாங்க முடியாமல் நான் மயக்கமடைந்தேன். கண் விழித்துப் பார்த்தபோது, என் கையில் இருந்த குறுவாள் அவர் நெஞ்சில் பாய்ந்திருந்தது என்கிறாள். அவள் தன்னை ஒரு பரிதாபத்திற்குரியவளாக காட்டிக்கொள்கிறாள்.
🔹இறந்துபோன போர்வீரனின் ஆவி ஒரு பூசாரியின் வழியாகப் பேசுகிறது. "என் மனைவி கொள்ளையனுடன் சேரச் சம்மதித்ததோடு, என்னையும் கொல்லச் சொன்னாள். அவள் துரோகத்தைத் தாங்க முடியாமல், நானே குறுவாளை எடுத்து என் இதயத்தில் பாய்ச்சித் தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டேன்" என்கிறது. அவன் தனது கௌரவத்தைக் காப்பாற்றிக்கொள்ள முயல்கிறான்.
🔹இறுதியில் விறகுவெட்டி உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறான். "கொள்ளையன் அந்தப் பெண்ணிடம் கெஞ்சினான். அவளோ இருவரையும் மோதவிட்டாள். ஆனால், அங்கு வீரமான போர் எதுவும் நடக்கவில்லை. இருவரும் பயத்தில் நடுங்கிக்கொண்டே வாள்களை வீசினர். தற்செயலாக போர்வீரன் கொல்லப்பட்டான்" என்கிறான்.
இறுதியில் விறகுவெட்டியும் ஒரு திருடன் என்பது தெரியவருகிறது (அவன் விலையுயர்ந்த குறுவாளைத் திருடியதால் தான் முன்னுக்குப் பின் முரணாகப் பேசினான்).
மனிதர்கள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தங்கள் சுயநலத்திற்காகவும், மற்றவர்கள் முன் தங்களை நல்லவர்களாகக் காட்டிக்கொள்ளவும் எப்படி உண்மையை வளைக்கிறார்கள் என்பதே இக்கதையின் மையக்கரு.
மழையின் இறுதியில், கைவிடப்பட்ட ஒரு குழந்தையை விறகுவெட்டி எடுத்துச் செல்லும்போது, மனிதர்கள் பொய் சொன்னாலும் *மனிதநேயம்* இன்னும் சாகவில்லை என்ற நம்பிக்கையுடன் படம் முடிகிறது.
இந்தக் கதையின் பாணிதான் இன்று சினிமாவில் புகழ்பெற்ற #RashomonEffect என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
