This is such a beautiful thought 💭.@kanodiaankit12
Never thought on these lines .
But this got me into thinking - Which IDEA WILL I DESTROY in 2023 ?
Don’t know YET. Hopefully soon .

Destroying one of your best-loved ideas
“Any year that you don’t destroy one of your best-loved ideas is probably a wasted year.”
— Charlie Munger
I (@kanodiaankit12) must admit that I am not that sharp and disciplined to follow this rule religiously.
But yes, I was reminded of this Charlie Munger quote when we at @SmartSyncServ were discussing something recently.
First a quick background story.
Sometime in 2018, my friend, philosopher, and guide, Anshul (@_anshulkhare ), told me this:
“Ankit, you already read the quarterly conference calls and make your notes on the businesses you track. Why don't you make it available on your website?”
Mind you, in those days, not many transcripts were available. So, for most companies, I used to track, I often had to record the concalls on my phone. Even recording of concalls were rarely available on YouTube during those days. And back then, I was doing it all alone.
After a year, I got help from one colleague, Karan. And over the last two years, I was lucky to have young and curious investors with me who would do it for us, and my role got changed from preparing concall notes to reading and reviewing them. A big shoutout to Dhruv Bajaj (@dhruvbajaj184) for this. He has done the bulk of the heavy lifting here. And we have been fortunate to have several interns who participated with full zeal.
From Q3FY19 (December 2018 quarter) we have been doing it consistently for the last 18 quarters. Check out all our concall notes of the last 5 years here: https://t.co/qkgWyJCX3k
From Q4FY20 onwards, we started compiling all our notes in one pdf document. You can access all of them here https://t.co/vgGtfi0GVv.
If you wish to download all those 13 pdfs, check here: https://t.co/cGqZUz9ZqH
However, we noticed something new in the last quarter. @screener_in had started sharing concall notes on its website.
And I have no shame in admitting that by leveraging the latest technology, they have been able to do a much better job of concall notes. Further, they have made several subsections for easy remembrance and reference in the future. Some of the subsections are like:
~Financial Performance
~Capex
~New Projects
~Partnership
~Leadership & Management
~Dividend/Buyback
~Other Initiatives
Plus, the max number of businesses we could reach was ~100 companies per quarter. But screener does it for all the companies that hold concalls.
Full credit to @ayushmitt , @faltoo and their team. Hat’s off to them.
So, the question we asked as a team is this.
When we started making these notes, there was an incremental value-add to our investing community. Is there any incremental value-add for continuing this today?
There was a long pause and silence. And we knew the answer.
“SSS Concall Notes” was not only one of our best-cherished ideas but also our 5-year-old baby now. Hence, it pains us to bid her goodbye but we want to follow the advice of Munger here.
While concall notes are a thing of past, we are going to start a new initiative [FREE] for our investing community.
Expect weekly video content on investing from our two young, curious, passionate and hard-working analysts, @dhruvbajaj184 & @rahildasani13 .
Thank you all for your continued support.
Happy Investing.

Aviation guys,
Why is this flight taking this longer route? Why isn't it flying over the Arabian Sea directly to Male?

@lynn_laidlaw #whyIlovetwitter @Ollieminton and why I wanted to write "The" PROMs paper ;) . Lynn - except for a very recent @PalliativeMedJ paper - there is surprising very little on patient opinions, perspectives of PROMs in palliative care in the literature! @ClaudiaVirdun

Kid 1 doesn't like putting the icing on Toaster Strudel, so I put it on my Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
I also put Tajin on my Rice Krispies Treats.

Dandelion clocks twinkling in the summer sunshine ✨️
PS. I'm determined to make this bird app wholesome again☺️

Earlier today, I took a stick to the upper branches of the Apple Crumble Tree in my front yard, with hopes that the deer would find the windfall.
I’m so glad they did and I could snap this pic.
Pictured here are 2 adults and a couple of young'uns.
Squeee!!!
