Reminder:
- January 2023, M23 withdraws from 80% of the liberated territory.
- Burundian troops of the EAC are deployed, theoretically in implementation of the ceasefire, but in practice leaving free rein to #FDLR, #Nyatura, #FARDC and #Wazalendo, steeped in the anti-Tutsi genocide ideology for decades.
- From October 2 to 4, these genocidal forces undertake, on camera, the total destruction of the village of Nturo where 300 houses belonging to Congolese Tutsi will be reduced to ashes, 9 people will be killed, thousands of Congolese Tutsi from Nturo, Petit Masisi, Kitchanga and its surroundings flee to the Bwiza camp where 17,000 displaced persons, more than 60% of whom are children, will take refuge.
- From October 6 to 10 in Kitchanga, a hunt for Tutsi by the FDLR-Wazalendo takes place on the watch of the Burundian troops of the EAC and MONUSCO. Entire families will be wiped out, notably with machetes.
- On October 15, the Bwiza camp where the 17,000 Tutsi had taken refuge will be attacked by these same genocidal forces. The displaced persons are accused of being "M23 collaborators."
- These 17,000 Tutsi displaced persons will survive total extermination thanks to the intervention of the M23.

Nturo est un petit village majoritairement habité par des Tutsis congolais. En octobre 2023, il a été entièrement détruit lors d’une opération conjointe impliquant des forces armées burundaises, des éléments des FARDC, des combattants FDLR-Nyatura et des milices Wazalendo.
Deux ans plus tard, quelques familles rescapées commencent à revenir. Malgré les profondes cicatrices laissées par ces attaques, elles ont reconstruit certaines habitations et tentent de relancer la vie locale, bien que l’économie du village ait été totalement ruinée.
Au cours des attaques, des milliers de têtes de bétail ont été abattues ou pillées par les forces armées burundaises, des éléments FARDC, FDLR-Nyatura et les milices Wazalendo Maï-Maï.
Une partie du bétail pillé a été transportée vers Goma pour y être vendue, tandis que d’autres bétails ( vaches) ont été abattus à l’abattoir de Kitutu avant d’être transférés à Kinshasa, au profit de familles d’officiels congolais et de hauts gradés FARDC impliqués dans l’opération menée à Nturo.
