The good news is that the #Samos2 are free today. N. was acquitted of all charges and Hasan was given a suspended sentence of 1 year and 5 months.
In 🇬🇷 Hasan faced 230 years + life imprisonment for steering the boat; N. faced 10 years & was charged for the death of his own son after the boat capsized. On May 18, N. was finally acquitted and Hasan was sentenced to 1.5 year on probation. #Samos2

While we are still relieved about the good outcome of yesterday's #Samos2 trial, the next trial against so-called "boat drivers" is already taking place today, this time in #Kalamata.
The two defendants have already spent more than a year in pre-trial detention!
