Today is the day! We have like 10 people flying in from all over this year, and a very interesting program that's not only relevant but will be discussing new and alternative approaches for dealing with the biggest issues that people face today.

We're opening up the stage for all kinds of works this year, and we want the event to have an "anything goes" feel - so we have room for both in-person and digital works, that will be showcased at the event, "open-mic" style. We're looking for folks who realize we live in janky times, but haven't given up yet - "sh*t" is an essential ingredient for fertilizer after all - what comes next? What will grow in the aftermath of all of this insanity? Those are the sorts of things we want to try to figure out at the event and beyond.
(The form for would-be participants can be found in the meetup QR - there are no guidelines or criteria this year - bring anything you want.).
Iran is on everyone's mind right now - #Tezos is one of the few places where we're using blockchain technology in the way it was intended - uncensored, decentralized, and raw. If you're interested in hearing what's been going in that region from an artistic point of view, you might find this event very interesting.
(For example, did you know that they are "rationing" internet connections in Iran right now? Our contact with the artists there have been sporadic because they can only get online for a few minutes at a time.)

This year's #Tezcon theme ("ensh!ttification") is going to be a litmus test to see how much authenticity is left in the crypto and NFT spaces - we know that almost everyone has that feeling that things are falling apart, but who's willing to actually willing to accept it - if not, celebrate it? Tech likes to talk about "creative destruction" all the time but now that it's finally here, who's gonna be on board?
Anyway, if you were disappointed by the recent conferences in the industry and are looking for something different, this'll be the anti-conference for you. No more "nothing to see here"s, vague promises with no follow-up, and bland, mind-numbing content with no authenticity - it'll be the only one of its kind.
Will it be any good? Hmm...did you read the theme of the title yet? ๐ But I guarantee that it will be nothing like you've ever seen before because we're leaning into the truth in ways that nowhere else will be willing to do.
Anyway, July 11th in Seattle's Hiawatha Arts Building starting at 4:04pm. More details to come. ๐
Interestingly enough, the last major conference I went to was Tezpole Miami 2023 (sorry, I think it had another name but I forgot), where I was immortalized as a meme on the #Tezos blockchain. (That's me in the back talking with the folks on @TeiaCommunity.) I figure I should quit while I was ahead because it wasn't gonna get any better than that. Looks like I was right. ๐
We're doing some planning for Tezcon 2026 this year in Seattle (July 11th near Capitol Hill), and we've settled on a theme - "Ensh*ttification". We all know Web3 is jank, crypto is jank, NFTs are jank, the markets are jank, politics is jank, the world itself is jank. Why hide it? Let's lean into it hard and have some fun. ๐
If you believe in the tech but don't mind talking or hearing some sh*t about the industry itself, this will be the anti-Conference event for you! Take it from the guy who didn't bother going to the main hall and hung around a pole for 3 days in a row because it was just too interesting not to. ๐

These are signs of a dying industry. I mean, shit happens at these types of events and can't be helped but it's the threats that show they're not in a good place right now.
Anyway, come to #Tezcon in Seattle this July instead, where we're leaning into the idea of everything falling apart. "Enshittification" is our theme this year - the only honest conference in Web3. ๐
oh my god the @EthereumDenver team are going around saying i held up my panel and turned up 30 minutes late, drunk [i had a beer in my hand, all of us grabbed a beer while we were told to wait] Apparently I was also using my 'twitter clout' and now they're apparently threatening legal action against me because of my reply to Claire's tweet? I was with everyone else from my panel we were all told to show up 40 minutes later.
All 6 of us [3 of us panelists and 3 friends] were told there would a 15 minute panel and then a 25 minute panel, we showed up 30 minutes later, all of us. This is actually insane behaviour? I would love to address this because what on earth.
I would like to nominate @TunaKuna4 for the @TezosCommons CRP awards. Jake is an incredible collector and supporter of @tezos artists, and important organizer of #tezcon Seattle. Big preesh fams. You already know.
