📌 #UnclogHinjawadiITPark | 24 July – Joint Survey by PMPML Chairman & Commissioner of Police Pimpri-Chinchwad with the Forum for IT Employees (FITE) | Ref: Action Plan of Hon. CM Devendra Fadnavis as per the 10 July meeting.
📢 On 24 July, FITE team met PMPML Chairman Pankaj Deore and conducted a ground survey at the Balewadi PMPML Depot for the proposed Intercity Transit Hub. The Hon. Chairman appreciated the idea and agreed to take the proposal forward for necessary approvals.
🚍 Proposed Intercity Transit Hub at Balewadi Depot:
• A site visit was carried out to assess the feasibility of the proposed Intercity Transit Hub at Balewadi (near MITCON).
• The location is strategically suitable for multimodal connectivity, with Metro access, direct highway connectivity, existing PMPML routes, and Intercity ST buses.
🚌 Hinjawadi PMPML Bus Stops – Infrastructure & Safety Improvements: After the Balewadi visit, PMPML Chairman & CP jointly visited multiple locations across Hinjawadi Phase 1 to Phase 3 to review current bus stop conditions and plan safety measures. Key points discussed and agreed upon:
• Wipro and Phase 3 (Megapolis) stops need larger bus shelters with proper seating and enhanced safety for female commuters.
• Selected bus stops will be relocated inside company campuses to free up footpaths for pedestrians.
• Damini Pathak female constables will be deployed during peak hours for added commuter safety.
• Additional CCTV infrastructure will be installed at key points — CSR support will be requested from local companies.
• To minimise risky passenger movement, the issue of unauthorised and unsafe highway stops at Wakad and Hinjawadi along the NH48 Highway needs to be addressed through safer, structured alternatives.
🕒 Bus Timings & Frequency:
The topic of bus timings and increased frequency will be taken up in a dedicated follow-up meeting, as the primary focus this time was on infrastructure upgrades and commuter safety.
