Problem which PFMS is solving 🔗

A criminal case is built on evidence. It starts with a camera or a phone call, often before a crime is even reported. It passes through officers’ hands, sits in a storeroom for years, gets copied into court documents, and finally reaches a judge.

That journey of a case runs through 5 stages of Chain of Evidence:

1️⃣ Pre-Crime Evidence: CCTVs, Bodycams, call logs, ANPR, etc.

2️⃣ Crime Investigation: Evidence collection and transportation, Forensic labs.

3️⃣ Evidence Storage Facility (Malkhana): Collected evidence is stored, issued and returned.

4️⃣ Prosecution: Chargesheets, witness statements, exhibit lists, etc.

5️⃣ Court of Law: Verification of evidence and its trail.

At almost every point a record is made. What none of them can show is that it hasn’t been altered since, or that it was made when it says it was.

The record and the claim about the record come from the same place. So a defence lawyer only has to raise reasonable doubt, and the entire case falls into a vicious cycle, pushing the average case resolution time to 7.5 years.

Update on the WMTX bridge incident.

Where we are. The exploit was on the @SingularityNET bridge. Unauthorised WMTX was minted on Ethereum. It's contained. Minting is stopped, the pre exploit snapshot is done, and exchange trading is paused while we finish the work to reopen safely. The team has been on it since the first hour with the exchanges, market makers, security partners and law enforcement.

We've had a call with the @SingularityNET team and we're working through their incident reports with @zeroshadow_io alongside our own people. We still haven't heard from @bengoertzel, even though his team said he would call.

@coinbase have been brilliant. @bitvavocom, @krakenfx and @chainlink equally. When it mattered, they picked up the phone and moved.

What I've learned.

1. What a community. Within hours the messages, the support and the offers of help were pouring in from every corner. Mobilers, you rock!

2. What a team. The people inside World Mobile have turned this around fast.

3. Humans will be humans. When you're down, some people will try to kick you. Water off a duck's back. We're building. They're posting.

4. Own your infrastructure. In July the Wanchain bridge lost 515 million NIGHT. Bridge after bridge, the same story. It's not just us, we got lucky because the damage was mitigated so quickly by our own people and our partners. The lesson is simple: critical infrastructure stays in our hands and nobody else's.
