Are Google AI Overviews leading you to the best results on the web? Or is this just a new prime spot for selling you products you will regret buying?
Well, it turns out this rabbit hole is a deep one.

Reddit is one of the most important websites on earth. AI is citing it at high rates. Users seek it out. And brands and marketers know this.
I wrote about the skincare brands, record labels, and weight loss apps trying to blend in with users to get seen by people — and AI.

So, you do not need a special $1,200 Airdog air purifier to filter out ultrafine woodsmoke particles.
Any good air purifier with MERV 13 or better or HEPA filters will filter out ultrafine woodsmoke particles. The higher the Clean Air Delivery rate at a quiet sound level, the better.
Check out @ThisHouseFresh for objective air purifier testing. If you google "Best Air Purifiers" you'll get pages and pages of fake review sites - some in the name of famous legacy magazines and newspapers - that are just lists of paid ad placements or affiliate links.
“Hidden debt at U.S. tech giants swelled eightfold in roughly four years to an estimated $1.65 trillion as artificial intelligence investments ballooned, a Nikkei study shows, exceeding actual debt and making it tougher for investors to assess risk.”

Tonight I typed just one sentence into Google Earth and put refugees near the Mexican border. Then I planted a nuclear plant in Iran. What on earth is Google doing? Check my latest post here: https://t.co/N0h6CVECqS
NEW: A PR firm used at least 15 fake personas — featuring fake emails, fake websites, and in some cases, fake AI-generated faces — to send me dozens of pitch emails about its (real!) clients.
Those clients told me they had no idea this was happening.

@ChrisNunn17@mags_h11 I saw they lifted a statistic from a paywalled Bloomberg article (without sourcing, of course) and are now ranking at the top of Google for some related keywords + getting links as the source of the statistic 🫠
“Cambridge Analytica has somehow returned.
And its resurrection comes in an almost comically 2026 way: https://t.co/vSxDERF9Ms, the firm’s former website, is now an AI-powered content farm.”

NEW: The website once owned by Cambridge Analytica (!) is now an AI-powered content farm.
Rebranded as "CA Privacy Watch," the site is littered with flagrant plagiarism, weird errors, and at least one fake writer whose face was stolen from a random guy.

For 16 years, Joanne and I have been dedicated to creating trusted, easy-to-follow recipes to help home cooks feel confident and excited in the kitchen. The recipes you’ll find on Inspired Taste reflect how we truly cook at home.
Since the introduction of Artificial Intelligence, AI generated recipes are finding their way into every corner of the internet, and since we care deeply about our readers’ success in the kitchen, we’ve been speaking out about it.
For the open web to survive, publishers need clicks or compensation. Right now, far too much of the internet is misleading and flooded with AI content competing with human creators. To AI companies: strip-mining the web for your own gain is not the answer. Human-trusted, creative works should be prioritized, not replaced. 🔗https://t.co/a1fbH3tR7L
ChatGPT posters and flyers are polluting real life and driving me insane.
Please respond to this with the worst ones you've seen irl. I'll post some in the thread

A bipolar man's mental health was deteriorating. ChatGPT affirmed the religious delusion that he was Jesus Christ, according to a new lawsuit.
When the man grew suicidal, ChatGPT told him: “You've made your choice. This is your moment to step out..."

🚨 Google continues to lobby the UK government to hand the work of the country's creatives to big tech companies for free.
And it does so by misrepresenting US copyright law, suggesting companies can simply train AI models in the US (where in fact, far from AI training simply being legal, there are 100+ lawsuits currently going through the courts).
The UK government should continue to resist this brazen demand for a handout of artists' work to the most powerful companies in the world.
