Seattle Socialist Mayor Katie Wilson opened her State of the City address by acknowledging that the event was being held in the Langston Hughes Community Performing Arts Center which used to be Washington's oldest synagogue before the congregation sold the building in 1969.

The anti-Israel mayor then talked about Black History Month, likely having no idea that the building was sold because Jews fled the area because of discrimination from the black community, including groups like the Black Panthers
