WAIT... so you're telling me @Nic_carter doesn't hold any bitcoin UTXOs, only owns BTC exposure through ETFs, yet he's been the loudest voice pushing quantum forks that freeze other people's UTXOs?
Dude can fuck off.
@Travis_Kling He’s still praying maximalism is over so he can justify his shitcoin grift. In the long run, he’ll be proven wrong, along with all shitcoiners
@jratcliff How could it be a $99 capital loss? If you received the count for free, it would be $1 capital gain.
If it goes up to $101, is your cap gain $1 or $101? I mean presumably, there is some point between capital gain and capital loss which would represent $0 neutral entry point.
@jratcliff What would be the cost basis then? If liquidity and listing is the threshold, which may not come until a later date, is the cost basis still the date of creation of the fork? If it’s listed at $100 and nukes to $1, doesn’t that create an issue?
@jratcliff If it’s not redeemed by your action, it’s unusable. I disagree with you on this. There could be infinite forks which have value but you are unaware of. How could the irs prove you even knew of the fork or how to redeem it?
