I love the web and I’m searching for my next challenging role in #webperf and #sre#engineering and #leadership. If you are #hiring or know the perfect role, I’d love to chat with you! Let’s make the web beautiful, fast, and accessible together.
Tip: Recent @ChromeDevTools Console shows you chains of error causes in the stack trace
You can specify error causes when catching and rethrowing errors. The "cause" data property of an Error instance indicates the specific original cause of the error.
And now with data to backup that statement:

You should make sure your images are decently compressed, but as long as you do that, there are often much bigger wins elsewhere for images, then obsessing about squeezing out a few kb more here and there.
Today's the day: Writebook is here! And it's free.

Blogging and posting on social is easy. But why is it so hard to publish a whole book on the web? It’s not anymore. Writebook is remarkably simple software that allows you to publish text and pictures in a simple, browsable online book format.
It's perfect for publishing instruction manuals), a collection of short stories, poetry, graphic novels, handbooks, and anything that fits better together than apart.
Writebook isn't a service, it's software you download and install on your own server. We've made it incredibly easy to get going — it just takes a few minutes. Even non-technical folks can get it all set up. We'll email you a single command you paste into a terminal and it takes care of the rest. No maintenance required either, it takes care of itself, auto-updates, etc.
And it also comes with all the Rails code so you can see how it's built, modify it for your own use, and learn how applications like this are made.
So, grab it and dive in! We'd love to see what you publish.

Looks like AS9498 (Bharti Airtel) typod a /32, /31 or /30. And turned it into a /3 (aka, 12.5% of the IPv4 internet) and other carriers (At least TI & GTT) accepted it!
Here's a video demo/peek at Writebook, the next product under the ONCE umbrella.
Not quite done, but getting very close.
Thought you might like to see what it looks like to build a book from scratch.
Lemme know if you have any questions.

In @ChromeDevTools you can now find memory issues more easily.
We added new filters to "Memory" to find duplicate strings, objects retained by detached DOM nodes and other reasons when taking heap snapshots.
✍️ I did a sketch to explain WASM “pre-optimization” or snapshotting like you would find in @bytecodeallies’ Wizer.
I’m very excited about these approaches for performance improvements, not just for the Web, outside the browser as well!
INP tip!
Recently we discovered that Chrome does a recalc style if you insert an empty iframe, and then update the src.
This can be expensive for some complex sites and so impacts your INP.
Simply setting the src BEFORE adding it to the iframe avoids this.
Well today's the day INP becomes a Core Web Vital!
So in honour of that, I present the 7 stages of INP grief:
1: Shock: How did this creep up so quickly? I was going to get round to it...

We don't have any openings at the moment, but we're aiming to hire at least one programmer and one designer this year.
