@EKFStiftung Vielen Dank an die @EKFStiftung für die Förderung und damit die Möglichkeit die spannenden Daten mechanistisch aufzuschlüsseln. Ich freue mich sehr auf das Projekt!
You are what you eat! Macrophages activate different gene expression (and functional) programs to IL-4 based on the type of apoptotic cell they ingested! Cool stuff by Bosurgi lab @ScienceMagazine https://t.co/Al4jo6Qs9L
In the latest issue! A versatile CRISPR-Cas13d platform for multiplexed transcriptomic regulation and metabolic engineering in primary human T cells https://t.co/iwGxjxDrZP
Together with @IdoAmitLab we’re very excited to introduce BiCE (Bispecific DC-T Cell Engager)- a new platform to engineer immune cell communication for #cancer#immunotherapy. Led by the amazing @yuval_shap@orenbarboy, now out @CellCellPress: https://t.co/COVWAN7Tbf

Today we report that an engineered skin bacterium, swabbed gently on the head of a mouse, can unleash a potent immune response against a distant tumor. @yerinchen led the charge w/ help from @DjenetBousbaine, @VeinbachsA, @BelkaidLab. @ScienceMagazine 1/26

We made a short video to explain the findings of these papers to a lay audience. This was arguably harder than publishing the actual papers.

💥BIG PAPER ALERT💥 So excited to share our latest, out now @Nature! Here, we uncover a spatially confined interplay between subsets of IL-1b+ macrophages and tumor cells that fuels pathogenic inflammation in pancreatic cancer (1/n)

While many of you have heard of the microbiome which describes the bacteria in our body, have you heard of the #mycobiome? This refers to the fungi that can be found in our gut as well as in tumors. In a recent report in @Cancer_Cell, investigators found that the fungus Aspergillus sydowii could be found in human lung adenocarcinomas and correlated with a worsened outcome. In experimental mouse models of lung cancer, this organism induced the tumor infiltration of myeloid derived suppressor cells (MDSC) which inhibited tumor reactive T cells. These findings may allow us to improve outcomes in cancer patients by targeting specific fungi.
Job Alter!
I'm currently offering at least three PhD or Postdoc positions!
We have several projects with robust preliminary data to choose from. Our primary focus will be on studying the tumor micro- and macroenvironment in the context of therapy resistance!
Thrilled to see our #microbiome#immunology paper is out in @Nature!
We mapped T cell receptor specificity to the gut microbiome at the level of a single TCR versus a single strain.

Here are highlights of our findings.
I think we need to talk about how devastating this cancer microbiome refutation paper from
@StevenSalzberg1
and colleagues is. It really speaks to how devoid of critical thinking and intellectual depth our glam publishing ecosystem has become. 1/n
