@Robert_Graboyes@iowahawkblog Reasonable satire by Burge.
But it also needs to consider…
2% super-wealth tax ≠ “take all profits”,
an imperfect wealth tax can complement other taxes (income, capital gains, corporate),
ignores other countries implementation with nuance (Swiss, Norway), etc
The best companies care about making their software fast.
- Fast software eliminates cognitive friction. We increasingly spend our time on computers, and most software is some combination of slow + unintuitive. Software feels magical when it bridges performances + optimized interface design—the best software surprisingly works exactly as you hoped.
- Fast software signals simplicity, and this is only going to become rarer with LLM-generated code + content. The best companies do a couple things really, really well (and handle all of the complexity behind the scenes).
- Fast is relative. LLMs unlock a level of capabilities + speed previously not possible. At the same time, we're only at the beginning of this paradigm shift. Today's era is mostly focused on capabilities rather than performance. This will shift over time.

An utterly deranged development, it's hard to even comprehend — an escalating assault on our biomedical research enterprise that goes against the interests of basically anyone who wants to live a long life.
@briancreyes@LukeW@dknemeyer I haven’t updated the site in a year+.

Baseline data will become the single biggest health strategy for people not corporations
You can absolutely track the progression of chest infections by tracking skin temperature. Same applies to a history of cardiac function and sleep.
My personal data manager will advise me of anomalies. It can only do that if there is comparative longitudinal data or generalised heat map data.
I had a hard time seeing @KamalaHarris' policies, so this was born. All candidates need a straight-forward, easy-to-grok "these are my positions" piece. cc @Rob_Flaherty#opensource
What’s a little #healthcare fraud between friends? Just a casual $400 billion—that’s 10% of healthcare’s GDP. And don’t forget, there’s an extra 20% wasted for good measure.

I have a new @nytopinion post saying that President Biden should cap his long career of public service with one more step for the nation's good: Withdrawing from the presidential race and throwing the choice of Democratic nominee to the convention: https://t.co/pdamGsnTmk
Software is going to melt into everything and nothing all at once
Asked Claude-3.5 to implement an example patient application using the Good Faith Estimates provided by the Patient Cost Transparency Guide (nitty gritty healthIT interop spec)

State governments spent a combined $64 billion on incarceration in 2021. The median state spent $65k per prisoner. Arkansas spent the least, at just under $23k per prisoner, while Massachusetts spent way over the median: $307k per prisoner.
Because MA spends so much per prisoner, they also imprison the fewest people, which I think is the correct way of going about prison. It should cost A LOT to imprison someone. That way we try to avoid imprisoning people and instead prevent crime.
Universal basic income would mean a lot less crime and a lot lower recidivism. It would significantly reduce the number of people being locked up.
Let's invest in people instead of the prison industry.

here's our take on the @ARPA_H Paradigm program's need (Task Activity 5) for AR-based training + CDS for community healthcare workers and RNs... on board a mobile clinic on wheels.
