@kroger has also wiped out thousands of my fuel points for no reason. I keep a very close eye on them and they are suddenly redeemed on days that I don’t even shop or pump gas. When I call the help # they say to go talk to the store. When I talk to the store in person, they say to call the number. This happens too often to be unintentional or a glitch. They bet that you won’t notice.
I don’t want to "download the app" to pay for parking. I don’t want to "create an account" to see a menu. I don’t want to "provide feedback" on a 30-second interaction. I just want to exist in the physical world without a digital leash.
I am not a political person. The scientific community and the data and evidence overwhelmingly shows that morning sunlight is imperative for good health.
There are Republicans and Democrats both on the right side of this as seen by legislation just introduced - bipartisan calling for permanent standard time. But there are also Republicans and Democrats on the wrong side of this issue that because of either intellectual laziness or willful ignorance have voted for a bill that will remove morning sunlight for hundreds of millions of people that they are financially medically responsible for, and it will increase the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease as well as certain types of cancers that we have evidence for.
I am a boarded Sleep specialist, which means that I am an expert in this field.
This is not my opinion, but the position of thousands of professionals who understand the circadian rhythm and the tremendous impact that this will have hundreds of millions of people in the United States.
It is completely untenable that the supreme governing body of our country would make a decision about this without weighing the evidence.
Making standard time permanent is literally the lowest hanging fruit that we could decide to improve the health of our country. Instead, we have politicians going on this platform to boast that they gave more sunlight to their constituents. As if the stroke of their mighty pen could add one second to the amount of sunlight that comes from the sun.
Complete ignorance.
Vote NO!
More sunshine, less depression" isn't what the evidence shows. Permanent Daylight Saving Time doesn't create more daylight—it simply shifts it later. Many sleep and circadian experts support permanent Standard Time because it better aligns our body clock with the natural light cycle. Chronic misalignment between our internal clock and the social clock has been linked to poorer sleep, depression, and other health risks.
PS As a Washington senator, you know our winters. A sunset an hour later doesn't mean an extra hour of bright sunshine. With our low winter sun angle and frequent cloud cover, it often just means another hour of gray skies while pushing sunrise past 9 a.m.
@PattyMurray You’re an idiot. All of you are morons and I hope none of you get re-elected. A 30-second google search would tell that you have it backwards. When the first innocent child gets hit by a car waiting for the school bus, their blood will be on your hands

Mr. President, Daylight Saving Time forces Americans to wake an hour earlier than Standard Time and does not create more daylight. Permanent Daylight Saving Time would make winter mornings dangerously dark, with some sunrises occurring as late as 9am. For the sake of public health, safety, and better sleep, please restore permanent Standard Time!
