🚨🇺🇸 BREAKING: Marine One flew within 0.8 miles of a passenger jet over Washington after the tower couldn't hear the president's crew.

-The helicopter carrying Trump came within 0.8 miles laterally and 700 feet vertically of an Envoy Air flight Tuesday afternoon, per two people familiar with the FAA's preliminary findings

-The FAA defines a loss of separation as breaching 1.5 miles laterally or 500 feet vertically, so that lateral gap was well inside the line

-The cause was radio failure: Marine One's crew tried THREE times to warn National Airport's tower it was three minutes from lifting, and a controller replied that the call was "broken" and "unreadable"

-They took off anyway, straight into the path of a jet that had just departed for Pensacola, and the controller sounded surprised when the helicopter radioed that it was "proceeding as briefed"

-The White House says Trump "was at no point in harm's way," and the FAA calls it a "momentary loss of separation" with a review ongoing

-Trump has been flying out of the Ellipse since July while a new helipad is built on the South Lawn, adding a new variable to some of the most congested airspace in the country

Now sit with this.

In January 2025, an Army Black Hawk hit an American Airlines jet in this exact airspace and killed all 67 people aboard.

The NTSB found degraded radio reception left that crew blind to the plane it struck.

Eighteen months later, a helicopter carrying the President of the United States lifted off into traffic because the tower couldn't hear him either, and many of the fixes the NTSB demanded still haven't been made.

Think about the month this man has had.

A $10 million militia bounty on his head.

Iranian state media publishing a video mapping his and his wife's shopping routes and ending with a threat to his son.

A plane swap out of Turkey over fears of an assassination plot.

A heavily armed man arrested at his golf course Sunday with body armor and notebooks.

And now the aircraft that carries him nearly clips an airliner because a radio didn't work.

I took the PDF that Brian Nowak at Morgan Stanley put together for Hyperscale ROIC this week and used Copilot code (coming in our new superapp) with a single prompt + skill (/drill-me) to create the plan, then used autopilot in auto to create the full app (with history, lookups, scenarios, what-ifs, etc). And /rubber-duck to test.

And the best part is that all the artifacts are in my enterprise environment. My app is in Copilot, my code is in GitHub Enterprise; all my data pipelines/lake/semantic models are in Fabric. And everything is under Agent 365 IT/Sec/FinOps control!
