If you want to get a job as a software engineer in this market:

Build a side project!

Solve a problem you have with a little web app, built with a backend framework and language you enjoy, and a frontend framework and language you like. Most importantly, ship it to a URL.

Get some customers. React to their feedback over and over again.

When applying for jobs, always include the URL of your side project.

In a single “word”, you can show a CEO/manager/recruiter that you can:

1. Write code
2. Ship to production
3. Solve customer problems
4. Don’t need to be managed
