Met the incredible team from Yubi, a unified credit platform that provides end-to-end tech infrastructure for India’s debt market. Their solutions connect borrowers, lenders and investors on a single platform, powering the entire credit lifecycle.
We discussed how their technology can also support governance, from using their AI assistant for citizen services and grievance redressal on Panchamitra, to collection and recovery tools for better tax administration and a parsing engine to streamline land records and suggest actionable outcomes.
We are keen to explore ways to leverage tech-solutions to make digital governance in Karnataka more efficient and citizen-centric.

Yubi turns 5!
What began as a vision to transform debt markets and fuel enterprise growth has today become a story of impact.
In just 5 years, we’ve:
- Enabled 3.2 Lakh Cr+ of credit across sectors
- Powered 8.5 Cr+ transactions end-to-end
She was very courteous, collected the details about my location and promised to resolve the issue. Not only did it get rectified an hour later, there was also a follow up call at 8:45am for feedback. I’ve never seen this level of customer service before. Great work Bescom!
A word of appreciation for @NammaBESCOM . Last night, I logged a complaint about a transformer explosion and power cut through the #BescomMithra app at about 1:30am. I wasn’t expecting any result to be honest. Surprisingly, a lady called me back in 10 minutes.
The decision to establish consulates is made by the respective governments based on the economic significance of a city, not on the whims or personal preferences of BJP MPs or the External Affairs Minister.
I am confident that Mr. @DrSJaishankar, who served the nation as an officer for 38 years across various regimes (mostly under Congress governments), would agree with this.
Bengaluru has always been the natural choice for a US consulate, given its thriving ecosystem for investments and trade that mutually benefits the US and India.
Perhaps BJP MPs and @DrSJaishankar should make honest reels about how pressure from the Supreme Leader to prioritize a consulate in Gujarat caused the delay in establishing one in Bengaluru.
Also, BJP MPs should stop misleading people. While the Consulate will be opened soon, it will be only to service Americans and businesses. It will take a while before they start processing VISA from here.
How do you begin to write a tribute to a journalist, a friend, a brother? How do you describe him when nothing really contains him? The first time I met Mukesh Chandrakar was in December 2015, weeks after I had landed in Chhattisgarh as the Indian Express reporter there. (1/18)
Delivered as Promised!
Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of engaging in several discussions with the US Ambassador, HE. Eric Garcetti, and key representatives from the US Consulate, the Trade Mission, and the American Chamber of Commerce in India. At the heart of all these meetings was a common goal: establishing a US Consulate in Bengaluru.
Bengaluru, as a global hub for technology and innovation, is home to thousands of professionals, students and businesses with deep ties to the United States. So establishing a consulate in Bengaluru was an inevitable conclusion.
Today, it is so good to these consistent efforts have come to fruition. A new US Consulate is set to open in Bengaluru in January 2025. The consulate will simplify access to essential services for citizens, promote trade, and strengthen cultural and business ties between Karnataka and the United States.
This initiative will pave the way for a long standing vision of ours – to create sister city partnerships between US cities and Karnataka’s urban centers. Such collaborations will foster deeper cultural and economic exchanges, driving growth across sectors like commerce, education, healthcare, and technology. These partnerships will create opportunities for innovation, investment, and shared progress.
I want to sincerely thank Chief Minister Siddaramaiah @siddaramaiah for recognizing the importance of this initiative and writing to the US Ambassador assuring Karnataka’s full support to make this vision a reality. I also extend my gratitude to Ambassador Eric Garcetti for his consistent support and commitment to strengthening ties between our two regions.
This isn’t just talk—it’s Congress ke Kaam Ki Baat, not Mann Ki Baat.

Since I'm 6 drinks in for 20 bucks, let me tell you all about the story of how the first Microsoft Office 2007 vulnerability was discovered, or how it wasn't.
This was a story I was gonna save for a book but fuck it, I ain't gonna write it anyways.
If you've EVER stayed in a hotel in #Hyderabad, the Telangana cops @TelanganaCOPS sent your details and that of who you stayed with to an American crypto firm that never took your informed consent for this. (Hat tip to @DigitalDutta for shining a light on this illegal atrocity.) 1/n
