One recent example of how media has shaped the public agenda was the COVID-19 pandemic. The media framed certain points that were most newsworthy, which oftentimes caused havoc, conspiracies and false information #utcommtheory

A media personality that I have a parasocial relationship with is a TikTok mom, Chloe Gottschalk. Her and I had babies a few weeks apart, so I relate to her and enjoy her updates on her daughter because she has very similar milestones to my daughter #utcommtheory

One way that current communication technology positively impacted us through COVID is that it created an increased form of connectivity. It created remote jobs, boosted sales from places like DoorDash and enhanced corporate communication tools like TEAMS. #utcommtheory
