#F22POPMUS I do not think Wade’s assessment is true for todays pop audience of mainly young people, most would love to see a live show performed by a cover band over listen to original records of the song because it is a more memorable experience, most cannot afford live shows.
@skryanmun#F22POPMUS Most would love to see their favourite songs performed live by a cover band over just listening to a record of the original song however pop music has an audience of mainly young people who are not able to afford to go to live shows often or at all
@jenniferrose02 I agree, most of todays pop audience would still prefer to listen to their favourite songs live performed by a cover band rather than just listen to the actual record with the original artist because the experience is a lot more enjoyable and unforgettable #F22POPMUS
#F22POPMUS White middle class artists and record companies who took part in shlock rock were guilty of cultural theft. The white artist often got more popular for the song than the original black artist just because they were white, the black artist was usually not given credit.
@AidanSm54092875 Shlock rock was certainly cultural theft. Black artists would write and originally perform the songs just for a white artists stealing the song to get more attention and fame from someone else’s original work, it is horrible that they didn’t even credit the original #F22POPMUS
@toaststoat I completely agree that shlock rock was cultural theft, the lyrics were written and originally performed by African American artists just for white artists to then swoop in stealing the song from them but then getting more attention and fame just for being white. #F22POPMUS
@mackenziehMUN Ray Charles was certainly successful with his breaking voice to make sure he had his own individuality to avoid being typecasted to just one genre such as rock n roll, his emotion and character through his vocal technique helped him achieve cross over success. #F22POPMUS
@leahkennedy111#F22POPMUS I completely agree, Ray Charles didn’t want to be just typecasted as being a rock n roller since he wanted to conquer many different genres. He certainly achieved great cross over success with his talent and creativity!
#F22POPMUS Ray Charles used a breaking voice because he didn’t want to be typecasted as a rock n roller, he wanted to conquer many different genres. This signifies that he wanted to achieve cross over success while still being easily recognized which he did with his unique voice.
@NazaahaAzam#F22POPMUS I agree that it’s wrong to just assume someone is rich for having AirPods. Unfortunately a lot of young kids who don’t understand the value of money and how expensive they are will make fun of less fortunate kids who can only afford knockoff brands of AirPods.
#F22POPMUS AirPods have influenced many kids into thinking people who use knock off airpods are losers below their social status. Due to phones no longer having convenient audio jacks I had to buy reliable, expensive Bluetooth earbuds although I already had wired ones.
@_Adam_Keating_#F22POPMUS I agree, especially in high school kids are now bullied for listening to their music with wired headphones instead of expensive AirPods that most families cannot afford. Even when I was still in high school people would make fun of kids using knock off air pods
@knoseworthy13 I agree, it is important that light is to be shed on the negative side of excessive wealth/substance abuse rather than the constant glorification fed to people by the media. Everyone has their own preferences in music taste and will interpret songs differently. #F22POPMUS
@AidanSm54092875 I completely agree, pop music certainly creates harmful ideas such as feeling the need to look a certain way to be considered attractive, and over glorification of drugs/need for money. It is very sad to see the amount of musicians who end up having mental breakdowns. #F22POPMUS
#F22POPMUS Some false needs created by the popular music industry are that people must look a certain way to be considered attractive and also over glorification of drug use. Popular music don’t propagate a dumbed down form of music because most songs have a deeper meaning.
@annikalindstr0m I absolutely agree with this! During this stressful time while social distancing ourselves it is still very important that we cope with our stress, through the use of technology such as FaceTime we can still study with our friends to help reduce stress! #HKR1000
To ensure my mood is not negativity impacted during this stressful time, to manage my stress I feel it would be a wise for me to become more active to help relieve stress, do yoga to calm my mind, and eat a healthy balanced diet which helps me achieve a positive mindset #HKR1000
@jenna16271349 I totally agree with this! As stated in the article yoga can also help improve sleep, which is very beneficial and important for university students as a good sleeping schedule can help students feel more productive helping them perform better in school!
Based on this article just 15 minutes of yoga a day can result in health benefits such as reducing stress, by reducing stress ones overall physical and mental health are improved which can help people become more productive and feel much happier. #hkr1000 https://t.co/FdA6LIPIUB
