The discussions provided an introduction to the COMESA Handbook for Mediation on Natural Resource Conflicts. Participants explored mediation frameworks and tools designed to help resolve disputes over land, water, and other vital resources. These tools are essential for fostering dialogue, building consensus, and creating lasting solutions that benefit communities and ensure sustainable resource management.

🚨 CRACKDOWN IN SAMBURU COUNTY🚨
In the early hours of this morning, we led a successful multi-agency operation targeting illicit brews and narcotic substances in Maralal Town, Samburu County.

The team, led by SSP Nicholas Kosgei, arrested five individuals in Rangau Village, Kirisia Division, for possession and manufacture of illegal brews including chang’aa, busaa, and kangara.

Over 2,000 litres of kangara were seized and destroyed on-site.

All suspects were taken to Maralal Police Station and will be arraigned in court.

This is part of our ongoing efforts to dismantle illegal alcohol networks and protect communities from the harms of substance abuse.
