Kurt Vonnegut's 8 rules for writing:
1. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted.
2. Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for.
3. Every character should want something, even if it is only a glass of water.
4. Every sentence must do one of two things—reveal character or advance the action.
5. Start as close to the end as possible.
6. Be a sadist. No matter how sweet and innocent your leading characters, make awful things happen to them-in order that the reader may see what they are made of.
7. Write to please just one person. If you open a window and make love to the world, so to speak, your story will get pneumonia.
8. Give your readers as much information as possible as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.
@MartinNebelong@Durghan Is that like plasticity 3D? One of the downsides with plasticity is that it’s not very easy to undo changes later if you get early measurements wrong unlike non destructive modelling
I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a project as much as I have this lil guy in a long while. Just a fun process to keep pushing. We’ll see what changes I’ll make tomorrow during my stream!
🤔🤪🍻
When you are developing a business, may it be for games or otherwise.
Then there will always come a moment when you think:
"Why am I even doing this? I want to give up."
In the beginning I came to that point quiet often.
This is wild. Cycles on the left, Eevee on the right.
Cycles took 6 hours to render. Eeve took 2 minutes. While there's a big difference in the hair, and the skin looks nicer in Cycles, it's wild how good Eevee is.
Oh and this is vanilla Blender 3.5, not Eevee Next
I just recorded a YT video on how to go from Painter to ZBrush to create really nice sculpted details. This is a particularly useful approach if you want to texture dinosaurs, crocodiles, or other creatures with scales and a lot of skin details
@MR3Dev@mattworkman There’s a glass asset pack on the store which looks good with refraction but it only works with path tracing. I don’t think it works with ray tracing or lumen
We’ve been collaborating with @Ian_Barnard for years and we love how effortlessly he creates his expressive type designs. Check out this video we asked him to create for us to show off the power of #AffinityDesigner for iPad ✨
A little showcase of the new FX of the upcoming 1.4 update for "Sky Creator": puddles, ripples, rain drops, rain streaks, rain splatter, wind and volumetric rain splashes.
Most of the material effects are procedural and simulated in Niagara.
