ILLEGAL DICTATOR HASSAN SHEIKH MOHAMUD LIED TO US CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION - TORCHES US BILLIONS TO STAY IN POWER
This is no longer Somalia’s internal mess. It is a direct attack on US, UK, and EU security.
Former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s mandate died on 15 May. He is an illegal ruler manufacturing war to cling to power. Galkayo is the proof - (1) block elections, (2) flood the country with weapons, (3) ignite federal and clan bloodshed, then (4) seize emergency rule forever.
Days after looking US Congressional delegations, AFRICOM and the Acting US Ambassador in the eye and promising full support for American counter-terrorism, HE LIED. He turned US-trained, US-funded forces - built to counter Al-Shabaab - against Puntland, exactly as he did in Baidoa and Jubaland. A cargo plane delivered arms and mortars to Galkacyo for his militias. The US-trained JET commander Colonel Cabdiqaadir Shiine was detained. Weapons keep pouring into stable areas to open new fronts.
At Kampala, Troop-Contributing Countries told him the hard truth - (1) no security without political settlement, (2) no stability without dialogue. He exploded, shouting “sovereignty” while begging for their protection and sending their soldiers to die for the chaos he creates.
This is deliberate sabotage. Every clash hands Al-Shabaab new safe havens. Billions of your money are being torched to keep one dictator in power.
The cost to you is already clear: • Stronger Al-Shabaab reaching the Red Sea and your shores • China and Turkey seizing the vacuum • Fresh terrorist and migration threats aimed at America, Britain and Europe • Strategic defeat in the Horn of Africa
Stop treating this as someone else’s problem. Cut every dollar, every weapon, every political cover. Isolate former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his inner circle now. Force constitutional order before Somalia becomes another launchpad against the West.
The window is slamming shut. Act - or own the consequences when the threat reaches your borders.

PRESS RELEASE
Puntland Marks 28 Years of Progress, Stability, and Development
Garowe, Puntland – August 1, 2026 – As Puntland commemorates its 28th anniversary, the occasion provides an opportunity to reflect on nearly three decades of progress in governance, security, economic development, and public service delivery, while reaffirming the commitment to address remaining challenges and build a more prosperous future for all citizens.
Since its establishment in 1998, Puntland has made significant strides in promoting peace and stability, creating an environment that has enabled government institutions, businesses, and communities to grow. Despite regional and national challenges, Puntland has maintained relative stability, laying the foundation for sustained development and economic growth.
Over the past 28 years, Puntland has strengthened its executive, legislative, and judicial institutions, advancing governance, the rule of law, and public administration. These institutions continue to evolve to better serve the people and enhance transparency, accountability, and effective public service delivery.
Security remains one of Puntland's most notable achievements. Puntland's security forces have played a critical role in combating terrorism, piracy, and organized crime, contributing to regional security while protecting communities and supporting economic activity.
Puntland has also invested in infrastructure development, expanding and rehabilitating roads, airports, ports, and public facilities. These investments have improved connectivity, facilitated trade, and enhanced access to essential services across the region.
The education sector has experienced continued growth, with increased access to primary, secondary, tertiary, and vocational education, providing greater opportunities for young people and contributing to the development of a skilled workforce.
In healthcare, Puntland has expanded health facilities and improved access to maternal, child, and primary healthcare services, strengthening community well-being and improving health outcomes.
Economic growth has been supported by the resilience of the private sector, particularly in livestock, fisheries, trade, telecommunications, and entrepreneurship. These sectors continue to generate employment opportunities, support livelihoods, and drive economic development.
The launch of Puntland's Fourth Five-Year Development Plan (2026–2030) reflects the government's commitment to inclusive governance, sustainable economic growth, improved social services, climate resilience, and long-term development.
Partnerships with international development organizations, humanitarian agencies, regional stakeholders, and the private sector have further supported progress in infrastructure, governance, education, healthcare, and resilience-building initiatives.
While celebrating these achievements, Puntland also recognizes the importance of addressing ongoing challenges. Strengthening public services, creating employment opportunities, improving infrastructure, enhancing financial accountability, and responding to evolving security threats remain key priorities for the years ahead.
As Puntland marks its 28th anniversary, appreciation is extended to the people of Puntland, the security forces, traditional elders, civil society, the private sector, and international development partners whose dedication and contributions have been instrumental in the region's progress. This anniversary serves not only as a celebration of past achievements but also as a renewed commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Puntland for present and future generations.

Diplomatic Statement
While Somalia has agreed to cooperate with its international partners on matters concerning its national security, it may be difficult to maintain that discussions regarding internal political developments fall entirely outside the scope of this cooperation
@AliOmarMP Let me correct you. As you know, Somalia owns diplomatic properties in Munich & Bonn. You are also aware of what has already taken place regarding Somalia's diplomatic properties HSM you fully awhere what you did in this three perticularly Nigeria,Tanzania, Maputo, you"Sold out"
Somali State Minister Ali Omar Who Didn’t Even Know Bonn Was West Germany’s Capital Just Denied the Embassy Former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Ordered Him to Sell Ever Existed
Somalia does own a property in Born, Germany (Former Capital of West Germany) is not merely wrong - it is a public display of ignorance so profound it borders on national embarrassment. You demand evidence while sitting on the very history you either never learned or deliberately erased. Here is the lecture you clearly never received.
In October 1977, when you were still a first-year student at Mogadishu Technical School who could not even name the capital of West Germany, Somali President Mohamed Siad Barre authorized the West German GSG 9 to storm the hijacked Lufthansa Flight 181 (“Landshut”) on the tarmac of Mogadishu International Airport. That operation succeeded. Hostages were freed. The terrorists were neutralized. West Germany never forgot the debt. Relations warmed sharply. Development grants and technical assistance followed in the late 1970s and 1980s.
Out of that concrete alliance, Somalia acquired and occupied its own embassy property in Bonn - the actual capital of West Germany from 1949 to 1990 - at Hohenzollernstraße 12, beginning in 1978. A villa. Owned by the Somali state. Used as the official embassy until the central government collapsed in 1991. Not a rented office. Not a shared desk. A sovereign property of the Somali Republic in the capital of its partner at the time.
You now sit in an office and announce that no such property ever existed, demand “evidence,” and invite the public to “help us locate this beautiful building.” The building was in Bonn. Your inability to play game is not a minor factual slip; it is proof that the man currently speaking for the Somali state on this matter was still learning basic geography while the property was already flying the Somali flag.
Worse, the same property was later disposed or sold of under the direct order of former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, with your name and signature appearing on the letterhead that executed the sale. You did not merely fail to protect state assets; you participated in liquidating and profiting one that had been acquired through the blood and political capital of an earlier generation of Somalis.
Stop pretending the historical record does not exist. And stop treating the Somali public as if they share your level of ignorance about what their own government once owned in Germany.

Somalia’s Embassy in Rome: Not Property to Be Sold, A Nation’s Heritage
I recently read the statement from Ambassador Mohamed Ahmed Awil, who expressed concern about Somalia’s diplomatic properties abroad. What struck me most was his mention of Somalia’s properties in Rome. If these reports are accurate, every Somali should pause and consider what is truly at stake.
For me, the Somali Embassy in Rome is not just a diplomatic building. It is part of Somalia’s national story.
I visited the embassy in the late 1980s while handling consular matters. I still remember walking through its elegant halls and admiring its historic architecture, high ceilings, and antique interior. More than anything, I felt pride seeing the Somali flag flying over such a distinguished property in one of the world’s most beautiful and historic capitals.
Those memories have stayed with me for nearly four decades.
Many younger Somalis may not understand the significance of these diplomatic properties. They are not ordinary real estate. The historic embassy on Via dei Villini, in Rome’s renowned Nomentano district, and the current embassy on Via dei Gracchi, in the prestigious Prati district near Vatican City, are in locations known for their architectural beauty and diplomatic importance. Properties in these areas are exceptionally rare and would be extremely hard to replace.
But their greatest value is not financial.
These buildings represent Somalia’s sovereignty, its diplomatic presence, and the lasting relationship between Somalia and Italy. They have welcomed diplomats, students, travelers, and generations of Somali citizens. They are living reminders of the hopes and dreams of those who built the Somali Republic after independence.
If Somalia loses these properties, it will not just lose buildings. It will lose irreplaceable landmarks of its diplomatic history and a part of its national identity.
I therefore call on all Somalis, wherever they are, to unite in protecting our diplomatic heritage abroad. I also respectfully appeal to the Government of Italy to ensure that any action affecting Somali state property follows Italian law and protects these historic assets during this sensitive time.
Money can be earned again. Buildings can be rebuilt. But a nation’s heritage, once lost, can never truly be recovered. The Somali Embassy in Rome belongs to the Somali people and should be preserved for future generations.

Ali Omar, Stop the Lies: Al-Shabaab Just Took Back EVERYTHING You ‘Liberated
Your “heroic efforts” under Hassan Sheikh are total bullshit and cheap propaganda. Al-Shabaab wiped out nearly ALL the 2022-2023 “liberations” in 2025 - retaking central Somalia towns your forces bragged about. Back to square one, or worse.
“Total war”? More like total failure. Corrupt army, ghost soldiers, unpaid troops, clan militias abandoning you. While you rewrite the constitution for power grabs and fight federal states, Al-Shabaab advances, taxes locals, and threatens Mogadishu outskirts with attacks.
Crisis Group nailed it - your narrative is fairy tales. Reality on the ground - stalemate at best, disaster for Somalis. Stop lying to the world while terrorists regroup stronger.
The truth hurts, but Somalia deserves it.

BREAKING News: Law Finally Catches Up With Serial Corrupt Official Ascad Maxamud Yusuf
In a historic and long-overdue move, Somalia’s Attorney General has issued a formal summons ordering the immediate production of Ascad Maxamuud Yusuf - Director of Border Management at ICA - for interrogation over the brazen UNDER AGE HUMAN TRAFFICKING at Aden Adde International Airport. The official letter dated 17 June 2026, signed by Deputy Attorney General Cabdullahi Yuusuf Aadan, explicitly cites Articles 264, 285, and 505 of the Somali Penal Code for serious crimes of bribery, abuse of office, and organized extortion targeting Somali travelers.
This is a defining moment. For the first time, the Attorney General has shown real courage by defying intense political pressure from Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Caretaker Minister of Defense and chief mouthpiece of former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. Ascad - Fiqi’s first cousin - was fired and prosecuted in 2023 for issuing passports to extremists, yet was brazenly rehired by the Director General of ICA Hussein IDOW. Now he stands accused of running a predatory criminal enterprise involving extortion ($200–$800 per traveler), trafficking, and harassment. Two under age victims were recently rescued at Aden Adde Airport after he took $600 from each.

Pure Somaliphobia - DHS Humiliates FIFA World Cup Referee Osman Artan While Welcoming Corrupt Somali Officials
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s denial of entry to Mr. Omar Abdulkadir Artan -Africa’s most respected and accomplished football referee, selected by FIFA for the 2026 World Cup - is nothing short of a disgusting, shameful, and blatantly racist disgrace.
This hardworking Somali role model, the 2025 CAF Men’s Referee of the Year and the first Somali ever chosen to officiate at a World Cup, was humiliated and turned away at Miami International Airport purely because he holds a Somali passport. Despite having a valid visa and even a diplomatic passport arranged by the Somali embassy, Homeland Security bureaucrats treated him like a criminal and shipped him back like unwanted cargo.
This is pure Somaliphobia and raw racism. While these same officials roll out the red carpet for cronies and officials connected to the most corrupt former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud - letting them waltz into the U.S. freely on diplomatic passports - they punish a clean, inspiring young Somali who has dedicated his life to excellence in a sport that unites people.
Mr. Artan is a beacon for Somali youth: a symbol of discipline, merit, and achievement in a world that too often writes off Somalis. Denying him the chance to shine on the biggest stage because of his nationality is hypocritical, cowardly, and beneath the standards of a nation that claims to stand for fairness and opportunity.
As a dual U.S. and Somali citizen, I am furious and disgusted. This decision reeks of bigotry, not “vetting concerns.” It spits in the face of everything America pretends to represent while rewarding corrupt politicians with the same Somali background.
Reverse this outrageous decision immediately. Reinstate Mr. Artan’s visa, apologize publicly for this embarrassing act of discrimination, and allow this inspiring referee to do what he does best at the FIFA World Cup. Somalis and decent people worldwide are watching. Your agency’s reputation for fairness is already in the toilet - fix this now before it stinks even worse.
Shame on the Department of Homeland Security. This racism will not be forgotten.
@DHSgov
@m_amb Excllncy,
I respectfully wish to point out that Somalia appears to be deviating fr the principles of diplomatic conduct&the protection of its political system. There is growing concern that some gov. officials r acting according to their personal whims rather than the rule of law.
From a diplomatic standpoint, this is a diplomatic disaster for #Somalia. While diplomats are expected to engage professionally with all counterparts, public appearances also carry symbolic weight. The Somali ambassador should have recognized how this image would be perceived .
