VIDEO: A carriage horse believed to be named Snowman collapsed in Central Park at approximately 10:20 p.m. Saturday night and struggled to get back on his feet. Instead of being safely transported by trailer for a veterinary evaluation, the horse was hitched back to a carriage and forced to travel through miles of Saturday night Midtown traffic. Another egregious example of negligence and reckless disregard for public safety or horse welfare by carriage drivers.

“I am in Central Park seven days a week and I see the carriage horses every day,” said the eyewitness who recorded this video. “I am a lifelong horse person who, years ago, supported the carriage horse industry. I no longer do. Over time, I have watched the care and professionalism deteriorate. Too often, the people responsible for these horses appear inexperienced, unprofessional and callous about their welfare.”

A woman says she repeatedly begged her neighbors to stop leaving their 2-year-old Goldendoodle, Rocco, chained outside in the Texas heat for 10 to 15 hours a day without water or shade.

She says she called animal control and even offered to take him in, but her help was refused. The dog later died, and she has now started a petition calling for his owners to be held accountable. "It is imperative that local authorities pursue this case to ensure justice for Rocco," the petition reads.
