@pronounced_kyle HP is the worst about this. I will only own their EcoTank printer. Cost is only mid-range and get ink from a squeezer the size of a small mustard bottle. Can use off-brand without problems. One re-fill lasts 2 years for standard private use.

Our society is largely built by the 25% of people who liked high school. They did well in that environment, and they grow up to design systems that reward the same behavior that worked for them at 16. Meanwhile the other 75% spent those years unhappy, and a lot of them stay that way: bored, anxious, depressed, addicted, drifting through lives that feel meaningless. We built the whole machine around the minority who happened to fit it.
