@luke_arkins@cougsgo Hi Luke,
For discussion's sake why do you give him a pass for 2016-2018? Was handed a more than solid core and traded away Fredy Peralta, Chris Taylor, Paul Blackburn, Pablo Lopez, and JP Sears in deals that netted little to nothing in return.
@JacsonBevens The GM has also been below average at his job and the ownership is a clown show. No reason Dan and the staff should be taking the only bullets
@shaneF1984 We should hang a banner and build a statue for him. 51.8% win percentage and playoffs twice in 11 years. Is this a serious post? Because the Mariners were awful for their first 20 years we should embrace and celebrate mediocrity?
@AutMariners@LookoutLanding@KatePreusser It just is not accurate lol. This is from Nathan Bishop, but I have argued this for years.
Ketel Marte, Chris Taylor, Pablo Lopez, and Fredy Peralta were all in the “barren” farm Dipoto inherited. Those players have put up 89.8 fWAR to this point in their careers.
@iamherejustfor3 If they are so good why don’t they play good?
Again year 11 for Dipoto with one ALDS series win and it took an all time fluke catcher season.
He's won one non wild card series in 11 seasons. Traded away Peralta, Marte, Lopez, Diaz and didn't make the playoffs with the core he inherited. His MLB roster building is beyond awful...what has he done to deserve this much rope?
@mrtommygman he has turned around this organization from top to bottom, made the playoffs earlier than the rebuild was supposed to take, & each year this team is mentioned to make the playoffs. he’s done it all without throwing absorbent money at any aging big name willing to take an overpay
@MarinerMuse@Softykjr When does Jerry start to catch some heat?
Decade in with one ALDS series win. Don’t MLB results matter at some point?
This will be 3rd manager in a short window, running out of people to blame.
@vmaughan3 Agree. But a decade plus in with Dipoto and one playoff series win. (Wild Card round doesn’t count). To expect Dipoto to build quality MLB rosters at this point would be insane, there has only been one constant his whole tenure.
