@kdsdearing Totally agree with your point about the connection between the artist and audience. There is just something amazing about the artist talking to their fans and interacting with them wholeheartedly. Good post #F22POPMUS
I disagree with Wald. Live concerts are always so much more fun than listening to a recording from your phone. Aside from the sound, you get to interact with the artist and other people with similar taste. Similarly, a hockey game is much better in person than on TV. #F22POPMUS
@toaststoat I agree. The original artists no doubt worked very hard on their music only for it to be stolen and changed by white artists. It is truly a shame
This music is called shlock because the elements of the songs were stolen and changed by other musicians. As others said, it took away the originality of the music in order to satisfy white listeners. I think we can still value the music as there is a new ring to it #F22POPMUS
@SheilaLoshi I like the idea of being able to understand the music through his voice. Certain tones can change the meaning of different words but like you said you can really understand what he's meaning when he uses this kind of voice #F22POPMUS
@taylorbartlett0 You're right about his music being different from the rest. You would never forget his voice once you heard it which is a smart strategy. Great post!
Ray Charles used a breaking voice to demonstrate his passion and emotion for his music. It made his lyrics captivating and allowed listeners to put themselves in his shoes and feel and relate to the emotions he was presenting. #F22POPMUS
@bugviewer I agree! Also streaming services are mostly affordable whereas vinyl and CDs can become very pricey overtime. It is definitely a good evolution in today's society.
@charlottep011 Agreed. I remember when they were first released a few years ago and saw the price and nearly died. "How could anyone afford that?" I thought to myself. Unfortunately/fortunately they are becoming a "norm" for music accessibility
AirPods originally made me think that those who owned them were 'rich', until I finally caved and bought a pair. I love mine, but I will say there are cheaper alternatives with similar quality. AirPods allow access to all streaming apps anywhere, at anytime. #F22POPMUS
@MackeyKiley I agree. I know a lot of people around my area that wanted to become music artists simply because it seems so luxurious and easy to be worth millions. A lot of work is required to make it as a musician today, and with money and a high status comes a lot of negative as well.
@mackenziehMUN Really good point, Mackenzie. A reason I dislike a lot of love songs is because it can create some unrealistic expectations in the dating world and instil unnecessary pressures on people to find a partner and to not be alone/single.
False needs in pop music are substance abuse and mistreatment of women. Artists created this to glorify the purported lifestyle of having money for substances and pursuing women. The industry prioritizes profit over originality, thus catering to a passive audience. #F22POPMUS
