Menopause is a natural stage in women’s lives, marking the end of their reproductive years.
On Sunday’s #WorldMenopauseDay, @WHO highlights the importance of understanding this stage and its impact on women's health. https://t.co/T6HTWPc5z7
Día Mundial de la Menopausia | La menopausia es una etapa en la vida de las mujeres de la que se habla poco y, en la mayor parte de las ocasiones, mal. https://t.co/GzXPLv02el

Held to higher standards. Left off invitations. Pointed to as “diversity” but ignored.
These are just some of the hundreds of examples of devaluation women faculty in the United States shared with computational social scientist Katie Spoon. These experiences, more common for women than men, are to blame for the higher rate of attrition for women faculty, Spoon and colleagues report in a new analysis.

We’re delighted to be at the COMETA International Workshop in El Escorial! 🇪🇸 Two days of exciting science, inspiring discussions and new connections around metabolic diseases. Looking forward to sharing our research and learning from this fantastic community! 🔬✨ @IIBmCSICUAM
We recently introduced DISCO-seq 🤩: scRNA-seq after tissue clearing 🧬
https://t.co/r0JewTn5yC
First, image whole organs or bodies in 3D at cellular resolution. Then select regions for unbiased scRNA-seq.
From glioblastoma to whole-body SARS-CoV-2 spike mapping 👇🏻 #DISCOseq

The relationship between obesity and low testosterone.
Weigh gain and resulting excess adiposity suppresses testosterone production:
🔹 Increased leptin -> decreased gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH), resistance to gonadotropin mediated testosterone production
🔹 Increased estrogen production -> negative feedback onto hypothalamic neurons to produce LH, FSH
In those with low testosterone and obesity, the solution isn't testosterone supplementation rather effectively treating the underlying weight gain .
