@JoyMac22 I completely agree. The use of technology should be fun, educational, but also natural. When it is too forced it feels like more work when it should be something fun and creative. #wuedt6020
@BlakeMusicTeach I love your stance on this. By making technology a tool for students that think it is a toy, it is making them think they are just having fun when in reality they are learning too! #wuedt6020
@MichelleDech3 I agree that it should primarily be a tool but it can be a great incentive as a toy as well! Technology also allows for more collaboration on the same document whereas in the past students fought over writing on the same sheet of paper. #wuedt6020
@EdTechMilkshake I do believe there can be too much technology. Recently I had students make paper lanterns for Chinese New Year and it was a struggling for my 5th graders to cut and tape paper. I feel there should still be creative projects done on paper as well as on the computer #wuedt6020
@MrKppnhvr For me, it has been the lack of student socialization. When we were fully virtual I tried to get students engaged online but they did not seem to want to be involved. Now that we are back in person students are struggling on knowing how to work with others again. #wuedt6020
@BlakeMusicTeach I feel that my district does give us training on required technology use. When there is technology we want to get training on that is not required it is sadly more dependent on budget. Many times Youtube has to be my trainer. #wuedt6020
@khainsey22@EdTechLaura I love your point on how Edtech has allowed students who are more shy to be able to have more of a voice and feel more confident to participate than a traditional classroom allows for!
@SchafflerCHS@EdTechLaura I completely agree that students can now get more and instant feedback. With traditional learning they can only get feedback when student's hand in the assignment or the instructor happens to look at their work on their desk.
@EdTechLaura I believe Edtech is better than the traditional way of learning as it allows for even more differentiate for all types of learners. It also allows for students to be able to work at a pace that best suits them. #wuedt6020
@ShannonZeccola@EdTechLaura@McCoolWILMu I am interested in both of these trends as well. I agree SEL helps the "whole child". School isn't just about learning the curriculum but learning how to be a better person and collaborator, this can be achieved through SEL. #wuedt6020
@EdTechLaura@McCoolWILMu Two emerging trends I would love to implement more in my classroom are gamification and SEL. Students are surrounded by games so it is time to make it part of the classroom as well. SEL helps students to be able to be better people, learners, and collaborators. #wuedt6020
