#wuedt6020@EdTechLaura Check out my most recent blog post where I talk about burned out teachers trying to overcome these feelings

@MrO_ELA#wuedt6020 I think one major skill that technology is replacing is researching. Google gives quick answers and students don't have to do a lot of searching to get their answers. This can also result in the students not learning how to persevere through not finding answers.

I think "teacher discretion" is a bad phrase. This creates different rules in every classroom. The district needs clear rules in place so the students know their limits and can't fight back against it. #wuedt6020
@djdanij7@ClaireShipley13#wuedt6020 I think that all with time and effort all lessons can be turned into online lessons using Edtech tools, but I also fully understand the feeling that certain things don't feel like they work well. We need more Edtech tools created by teachers for teacher to solve this.
@mrsyoungchs Teachers need school districts to have a strict unwavering stance on cell phones. With a lot of districts being a 1 to 1 district cell phones are not needed. They are a distraction and when the district has a stance, that gives teachers the support to fall back on #wuedt6020
@AlexTrace27#wuedt6020 I think Edtech take more planning time for the first time you create/plan it. In the long run, however it is beneficial because of the engagement of students and less overall pressure of performance on the instructor during the class time.
@kevin_wolgemuth Negativity is just as contagious as viruses that caused it. Negativity and anxiety have gotten passed around a lot in the past two years. Positivity and confidence can be an equally contagious attitude and it is up to us to choose which ones we want to spread. #wuedt6020
What has burned you out the most from teaching during the pandemic? Was it learning how to teach online, the lack of student accountability, not physically being at school, or was it something else? #wuedt6020
@MTr8PhysEd this is so true. We try to enforce the rules, but in a nice way that student's won't look at us as "that" teacher who is a jerk about it about after telling the same students time after time, our patients is wearing thin.#wuedt6020
@BlakeMusicTeach#wuedt6020 I do not feel like my district has provided enough trainings. They provide trainings for basic Google suite software, but not much past that. One thing I do like is that my district listens to what teachers need for PD and asks teacher who have experience to teach it.
@klineawilmu#wuedt6020 One of the best tools I've found is thanks to a previous WilmU class was https://t.co/Of7Dd6oaKO. I love the fact that I can create a video game using information for any content.
@mrsrobersonmed Most of us became teachers because we care about the kids. It is frustrating when we care about someone and can't do anything to help them.
@khainsey22@EdTechLaura As a tech teacher I love being able to incorporate creativity. It truly makes students have to use higher order thinking and problem solving. This allows the students to retain more of the information and concepts #wuedt6020
@MTr8PhysEd@EdTechLaura I agree that the pandemic has sped up the evolution of teaching. I think the EdTech approach has also forced teachers to find ways for students to create something online as an assessment. This Web2.0 approach helps students use higher order thinking which is better #wuedt6020
@EdTechLaura I believe that EdTech is better than traditional teaching in todayโs age. When society evolves, so must our teaching methods. The pandemic has pushed the evolution of teaching further along than it would have without it. #wuedt6020

I think SEL is currently one of the most important emerging trends. Our students have spent so much time away from others and have not only not grown in their own SEL, but have actually regressed. #wuedt6020

Technology classes work so well with a flipped classroom. Imagine if we don't have to lecture information. The thing we need to keep in mind is some kind of review activity for those who didn't learn the material ahead of the class time. #wuedt6020
@EdTechLaura@McCoolWILMu Gamification is one emerging trend that I will try to implement into my class. I can create my own games using https://t.co/BwFbQVySYt and use this to replace or reinforce my instruction. #wuedt6020
