More on the matter of transferring MAZI NNAMDI KANU from Sokoto:

The location and terms of the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s unjust imprisonment formed an integral part of the judgment of the trial court, wherein Justice Omotosho explicitly ordered his confinement in Sokoto after remarking (at Page of the his judgement) that the Mazi Kanu "hates the North with passion”, which is untrue.

Now, having challenged both the conviction and the specific consequential order of imprisonment before the Court of Appeal, the choice of custodial venue is therefore strictly sub judice.

So, accepting an executive or administrative transfer while the matter is pending before the appellate court would bypass judicial authority, compromise appellate jurisdiction, and risk rendering a live judicial controversy moot.

Further, under Sections 6 and 36 of the Constitution, the executive branch cannot administratively alter, commute, or modify a specific judicial order of sentencing currently under appellate review.

And because the trial judge’s directive committing the #MNK to Sokoto (the historic seat of the Sokoto Caliphate in Northern Nigeria) was directly linked to judicial findings concerning alleged regional hostility, the lawfulness and fairness of that specific custodial location remain a legal question that must be determined by a court of competent jurisdiction, not through executive discretion.

Above are precisely why Mazi Nnamdi Kanu rightfully insists that any change in custodial location must stem from a judicial ruling by the Court of Appeal rather than a mere (and potentially duplicitous) administrative intervention.

As a lawyer (and one who could also become a judge), I still struggle with the cold reality that a person could be convicted for what amounted to murders, solely on the basis of free speech made on a foreign soil. The only explanation for such, is if such person is an Igbo. Yes!

“You are not a burden. Your body has already done something extraordinary — it survived when the world tried to erase you.”

He lived only a few weeks after liberation.
But he died free.

And long after his passing, the soldiers carried his memory with them — the image of a man whose body had nearly vanished, but whose humanity never did. His shadow stayed behind, etched into their hearts as a reminder of what must never be allowed to happen again.

We share stories like his not for sorrow alone — but for remembrance.

Not for numbers — but for names, faces, and fragile souls who fought every day just to remain human.

Their shadows still speak to us now, across time, with a simple plea:

Self-determination is a legitimate pursuit and Biafrans led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu are exercising their inalienable right to determine their political, economic and sovereign status.

Nigeria government disobeyed multiple court judgement including that favoured Mazi Nnamdi Kanu including the Appeal court judgements of Oct-13th, 2022 which discharged Nnamdi Kanu, struck out all charges against him and prohibited further charges against him. But the government refused to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and went on to falsely 'sentenced' to life in prison'.

Captured Boko Haram & ISWAP terrorists are set free without trial. They are given VIP treatment in a rehabilitation camp and later 'graduated' as 'repentant' Boko Haram and reintegrated into the society they destroyed without commensurate compensation to surviving victims that are internally dispaced.
