'Eritrea’s foreign festivals: clashes within the exile community'. Pres Isaias knows this is vital for his survival. But young Eritreans who risked everything to reach exile, are determined not to be intimidated & spied on. Neither side will back down

#Netherlands time to follow #Norway precedent and start an inquiry into the #EritreanTransnationalRepression#Netherlands officials need to learn the pattern of abuse and interference Regime supporters use to exploit the system. Often camouflaging regime propaganda as cultural, claiming racism and lack of respect for minorities towards anyone who dare to question the blatant abuse

“The combination of conflict, drought, and displacement is leading to a significant increase in hunger and disease outbreaks in various regions. Media reports have even described near-famine conditions in Tigray and Amhara. Disease outbreaks are spreading rapidly in northern Ethiopia due to the ongoing conflict, drought, economic shocks, and malnutrition. These conditions are particularly severe in the Tigray and Amhara regions. Between August 2022 and December 2023, over 30,000 cases of cholera were reported, highlighting the magnitude of the crisis.”

The result of the war on #Tigray, the attempted eradication of an ancient culture. Ancient #Christian manuscripts robbed from monasteries/churches by #Eritrea troops are now sold on ebay. This was done with consent by #Ethiopian gov. A tragedy for #Ethiopia’s cultural heritage.
Hundreds of thousands of Tigrayans are still unable to return to their homes in Western Tigray which have been occupied or destroyed by Amhara or Eritrean settlers and forces. Thousands more are still living in fear of torture, kidnapping or persecution.

Where is the justice promised by #ICHREE's critics? Who is blocking the Pretoria Accords?

UN attention on #Ethiopia is set to end, because @EU_UNGeneva stood aside & just let is go away.

Despite #ICHREE's warnings, renewed violence & d denial of justice, @EU_Commission rewarded yesterday Gov of #Ethiopia with end of scrutiny & a flow of cash.
Curious if any European or US official will publicly address the question of why they didn't put forward a resolution to renew ICHREE, even if they expected it to fail - due to Ethiopia's lobbying against further scrutiny by int'l human rights experts.
