@JohnGoldman @DrSeanOMara Yeah, actually the complete opposite. They survived by running long distances, for very long times. It's like the one thing humans are physically better at than any other species
@ESPNFANSUPPORT is there a way to unlock waiver settings in a fantasy basketball league after the draft has been completed? I want to change from free agent budget to standard waivers
Also bring back simpler training
Can barely watch instagram anymore with the nonsense I see, like isolating the peroneus brevis is the *KEY* to running fast
Athletes:
Stop trying to train like the guys you see on instagram. It’s all fake.
A. They use filters
B. They use drugs
C. They train for looks, not performance
You won’t get their results, & even if you did it won’t make you much better.
Agreed. I taught and coached at a rather underserved school that did this. Absolutely crushed the kids who couldn't play. It was all they had
Playing sports isn't just a "privilege". It's just as important as the classes they take during the day
I might be all alone in this opinion, but taking sports away from kids who struggle in school is wrong.
Playing a sport may be the most important classroom that a struggling student will ever attend.
Cardio adds more years to your life.
Strength training enhances the quality
of those years.
Stretching reduces the risk of injury.
Combine all 3 for the greatest benefits.

For my 4x4 high intensity training (HIIT), I did 4 minutes of all out exertion on an elliptical followed by 4 minutes of rest. Do that four times. You can do this on a bike, running, swimming, etc.
Great thread, and love this overall perspective from @drandyfatachan
I've been told many times by other PT's to be more conservative in treatment, but people tend to be far more capable than most healthcare providers lead them to believe
This is how we push the field forward
The standard is so low for musculoskeletal care.
Most people are in chronic pain because they are told to rest and move away from load.
If you’re capable of doing something then doing nothing is the first step in the wrong directions.
And most importantly…
They were meant to work. To live is to "work"
But now, for the most part, most of our work is for something beyond physical survival. However, we need money to survive, so we still have the sympathetic nervous response to this new type of work.
There's a disconnect. Oh well
Not a fan of weighted, polymeric jumps.
Holding the weights convolutes typical arm movement, adds unnecessary risk to the landing portion, and really doesn't let you train full power since the weight limits your speed
i can’t believe i just got consulted on a normal lab result and the question was is this a normal result and my answer was yes it says normal hence it is normal and that was that oh lord what is happening
