☀️ The Sun releases 384 yottawatts of energy every second. Humanity currently uses about 0.000000000000018% of that.
We are sitting next to a Type II energy source and still burning the leftovers of dead organisms to keep the lights on.
Kardashev proposed this scale in 1964. 62 years later we haven't even reached Type I.
We don't fully control our own planet's weather, oceans, or tectonic activity yet.
The scale doesn't make the Sun feel overwhelming to me. It makes our current position on it feel almost embarrassing..!
@MonoGameTeam So far I ported ShapeRendering, Primitives3D, Primitives, Orientation, NinjAcademy, GameStateManagement, CardsStarterKit, ShipGame, MicrophoneEcho, InstancedModel.
With varying degree of success across platforms.
I posted a small description on Quest browser's new experimental "shared spaces" feature: https://t.co/ylij2UAO3F
It automatically creates a shared coordinate space for headsets in the same room.
Here's a small recording that shows it in action:
I think folks often loose the original meaning of R in these words. With VR, the R — the reality plane, is virtual. It’s completely made up. In fact the entire scene is generated by code. With AR, the R — the reality plane is not created by code. It is real life, what your eyes would normally see. The A means to augment or extent this with computer generating augmentations like buttons, images, etc.
MR in this context is awkward. Is the reality plane, ie. the R machine generated? Or is there no such thing as MR? If the R in MR is meant to be both, that to me sounds like an AR mode with heavy weight augmentations.
xR where x means A or V but not both is fine, but it feels more like a marketing/PM driven name that sounds cool but is utterly meaningless.
The August 2024 release of FlatRedBall is here with almost 40 features/fixes. The biggest is the addition of the web platform. More info on the release here: https://t.co/8mhEWETtOf https://t.co/WhbSpI0SeD

It might not look like much, but damn it took hours getting Gum--tool I'm using for the game's UI elements--to work with Monogame KNI for web assembly. 😭😭😭
