@SciGuySpace Once when cleaning a famous photo of Mount Everest by Galen Rowell, the cleaning pad turned yellow from the amount of dye that flaked off. That had hundreds of these streaks after being scanned. Everything is consistent with known behavior of color slide film.
@SciGuySpace The blue spots in the Apollo photos are consistent with film degradation. I am an expert in scanning and imaging processing and I have retouched tens of thousands of these blue spots over the years. They are caused by the yellow dye layer on the film flaking.
