This is what should happen. Unfortunately, drastic strategic pivots are most of the time too difficult for organizations to make especially ones with the sunk cost this one has. This will happen far too late.

What probably happens is we get pick 15 in this years draft and miss out on a great class. Then we fire Nico after a first round exit in year 3 of this experiment.
