People who walk ~8,800 steps/day have about a 60% lower risk of premature death than those walking 2,000 steps/day.
- 2000 steps = 20 min of walking (basically only walking in your house and to the car)
- 8,700 steps = 1 hour 20 min (adding a longer walk)
Walking 16,000 steps/day provides only about an additional 5% reduction.
- 16,000 steps = 2 hours and 40 minutes
You just need to stop sitting most of the day.

Mothers are told that sleeping with their new born babies is a terrible idea and they must put the babies in a separate room or bed to keep them safe.
Sounds like another example of humans thinking theyโre smarter than nature.
If you want to give your child an intellectual advantage, make reading a family ritual. Read in front of them. Read with them. Talk about what you're reading at dinner.
I read 200-page books every night by age 10 because that's what people in my house did. The TV reception was bad, so I read. No curriculum or reading log. Just a home where books were normal, and screens weren't.
